i understand something better...my wife is insecure...on the surface she looks the opposite...
she looks normal....but she continues making statements about me THAT ARE NOT TRUE...
i finally stood up for myself and it felt real good today...i am not angry...i understand better
what i am living with...she has a big problem with me...i have a mental illness...i caused a lot of
worry and stress in the family...but i didn't do it on purpose...

i stood up for myself...

I am lost....

I cannot seem to offer myself love. My inner cub does not accept my efforts.

Thank you LT. Any advice on how to get our cubs to accept the love we give them would be welcome.

I also believe our health is complex and healthy diet and lifestyle are important.

Sometimes I find it helps if I can just hold still with the feeling(s) for awhile, even when they are uncomfortable. Don't think, just experience the feelings. Full strength.

I can't answer for Thirty shades but for me....

I was ''very quiet'' (forever being labelled that)
''soft hearted'' - labelled as such (aka ''weak'' as perceived by those who Know the Untruths in the world..)
''not demonstrative''

But who was I really?

None of those things. I was me. A lovely cub/being filled with love which was not appreciated or noticed...

A cub who was told I must be seen and never heard.... and then berated for being ''excessively shy''

A cub who was forced to stay alone, in silence and then berated for not being an adult at age 17 to leave the parents ''nest'' permanently so I no longer bothered them.

Soon after, they did force me out and told me I was a failure as they had clipped my wings so I could not fly...

I did day 1 of a meditation today

A short 5 minute meditation even a fuzzy bear can do

Has anyone else on the bus tried meditation? Rohag? I can send you a link..

I hadn't found anything helpful before... this I think is good

Formal meditation - no (not really).
Inspirational readings & recitations - yes.

^ yeah, same for me too

Fuzzy-you make me want to share some confusions about my upbringing, not that I feel it's always healthy for me to share these thoughts because I've learned to forgive (and/or he's improved too), but maybe I still need to learn from things like this. Anyway, so the thing that used to really upset me was when my Dad would complain that I spend too much time inside. "In my day, we spent the whole day outside. only came in for meals and bedtime...and school." But the next day when I suggested me and my siblings walk to school or wherever, "oh no! It's too dangerous outside!" or something like that. Like, wtf?! You say we don't get exercise and fresh air, yet you scare us into not wanting to go out in the first place!!

Sorry, guess I needed a vent too. hehe

Now, to go work out as I haven't done so really in like 2 weeks, not that this will do me any good if the hiatus affects my test results from this morning (got bloodwork for everything this time, including cholestorol and lipids, blood glucose..you know, all that stuff) and I'm feeling like what's the point now if I end up with bad results and hubby still lectures me. bleh! Oh well. I'm doing this for me. It feels good to workout.

Well.. therapists are supposed to listen to that crap. But they do not in this forest as thirty shades has also found. I wish I could wave a magic wand and pretend the ''family'' were not abusers, but that would be a lie This is probably the wrong forum for this, I've found before most in this forum do not get it

If the family were ''good enough'' then why .... oh it doesn't matter

Some ''wise advice'' I have received if I have ever spoken about abusive family is ''don't live in the past''

Wow, I had never thought of that, thanks

If ..... yeah if any of them had changed in **** years.... they would love it if I hated myself so completely because of all their abuse, neglect and rejection

Sorry about the grrr ness

hugs and respect to all
