I was dx'd with GERD today and they said it's likely a result of all the years of purging

Thanks Eskie, I started taking a medication for it yesterday and I've been looking up tips to help it with diet

Haven't posted here in awhile. Still mixed. Gained enough weight the pdoc didn't mention hospitalization this week on Tuessday. Hate gaining weigh. I've started walking again. Got to keep the exercise in check. Ugh, the truth is it helps for my anxiety for awhile and then it just does damage. I need to find that healthy ratio.

Finally found a T I think I can work with. She doesn't specialize in EDs, but my having an ED was not an instant "no" from her. I have had that either on the phone or in person with so many T's.

I have an ED, yes, but it's all connected to everything, and the exercise also becomes an OCD tendency.

Have to eat lunch, don't want to. See the T at 1 today, but she is only a 5 min. drive from my house.

Thank you! I'm going to get some flaxseed oil for my dog. I gave her a bath in the new shampoo and it helped a little. I changed the flavor of dog food I get, too. Her fur is so soft from the new shampoo.

Thank you for your support; it means a lot!

You are welcome
Also some dogs have allergies to corn (or wheat) in their food. My eskies never got any food with corn in it. I have found that dry or moist food that is lamb & brown rice seems to be the best for most doggie systems. Flaxseed oil can just be mixed in with the food....but I stir it around because it kinda stays separate otherwise.

Are your dogs large ones? If so mine may need less of the flaxseed oil. Mine only weighs about 20 pounds-she is a Shih Tzu:

I'm very frustrated over the Gerd and somewhat upset with myself for causing it....

I don't want to cough all day for the rest of my life

I've been eating but I seem to wait a very long time to do it lately. I like the feeling of my stomach growling, it makes me feel like I'm doing "well" and want to see how long I can go

I do that, too. Sometimes I'm trying to think of exactly what I am going to eat and it takes me a long time to do that.

I ate pretty well today. I also made brownies and had one tonight. I have mixed feelings about this though. Part of me is happy that I seem to be able to eat things in moderation now without devouring massive amounts of food and bingeing. Then a small part of me also feels a little wary and guilty every time I eat something like that because, there's always the option of not eating it, and restricting

My american eskimos are 20 lbs also. Tawny weighs less than 20. Leo weighs 20 & JoGI is my big boy at about 25+ They look bigger because of their fluffy white undercoated fur too.

OMG, caught a bad stomach bug from H. He thought it was just stress, but it is not. Not throwing up, but you get the picture. I am nauseous too. And I scheduled curbside grocery pickup 11 AM today...ugh.

I hope I can get the groceries and inside before the rain starts. Will put stuff away but wait all prep of washing fresh fruit and cutting fresh veggies for snack bags. I just feel blah...!

Downing Gatorade, can’t face food just now. Will try BRAT a couple meals maybe once I can think about eating.

This came on fast

Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. I, too, put veggies in storage bags. They last longer that way and it's very convenient, too.

Reading a book about maintaining recovery from eating disorders. I really like it, especially because it is one specifically aims to not give people with EDs new "ideas" or "tricks" with ED behaviors which a lot of the books I've read have unfortunately unintentionally had that and I would always get worse.

I'm doing really well today. I'm having those urges to starve myself but I've been eating. I feel a little guilty for it but I'm able to manage. I also haven't binged or purged in going on 3 months

Doing okay, eating as planned so far. I have lost weight, too, and that's a good thing for me as I am overweight from binge eating in the past. I am a third away from my goal weight.
