Idk. The Lose It App is worth looking into. I know its been mentioned other places on this site.

I'm still drinking soda though.

If you stick with it for a while you'll probably get a lifetime premium offer for a really good price. That happened to me, my mom and my aunt.

I was using myfitnesspal for a few years and I had luck on it but then I got stuck. So hopefully Lose It works.

It was just my idea out of common sense. I do not drink soda and do not have experience myself.

What dose Lose It do that myfitnesspal doesn't?

Mountaindewed, have you ever considered a SodaStream? You get fizzy drinks but no calories or caffeine (I think you can get caffeine if you want it). I really like mine. I wasn't a frequent soda drinker anyway but now I can have it and not mess up my calories.

Oh, I heard of that back in mid-2010s. I would like to try it. Does it take up a lot of space in the kitchen, though?

Very little space actually. Guessing I'd say it's 5"wide by 5"deep and maybe 12" tall? Something like that. The flavors are tiny bottles that last a long time. There are nitrogen bottles but you only need one at a time and the one you are using goes inside the machine so it doesn't take up any space.

I got mine for Christmas last year and really like it. I have to get a new bottle for it because I accidentally left the lid on it when it was empty and it got mildew in it but that's not very expensive ($15 I think).

If you like seltzer waters it's worth investigating. It's much cheaper than the ones you buy in the store.

I was thinking of getting a Cirkul water bottle. They look interesting.

It calculates how many calories you should eat. Then it gives you a certain number of calories for each meal and snacks. Also if you think you might want to eat more another day it will take off calories from another day/days and add them to that day you want eat more. You can also scan foods barcodes and stuff. It also helps you with intermittent fasting and you can synch your smart watches. Theres a place to add your daily blood pressure and blood sugar tok.

I find it to be more customizable (is that a word?) then my fitness pal.

Yes, it it s a word.

I realize this won't work for me any better than myfitnesspal or fitbit because I buy almost no foods with bar codes and I subsist on these massive pots of soup (loads of veggies, meat or beans, olive or avocado oil for sauteeing mire poix in the beginning, that kind of thing) and I never measure ingredients, so there is no way to calculate the calories in a bowl of final product. And if I try their estimates for various prepared soups, they ran such a wild range that it is pointless.

yoga 60 mins

recumbent bike 45 mins

recumbent elliptical 15 mins

Did another "ride" through autumnal Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Beautiful, but I think I have had enough of these views. Next time I go on the recumbent bike, I will select a different ride. I need some variety.

Intermittent fasting went well yesterday and I'm not very hungry today. I know it worked well in the past. I'm really into oatmeal these days.

I did get a Cirkul water bottle this morning. I haven't tried it out yet. It came with 2 cartdrige flavor things.

I so get you with peach cups. My employer stocks up plain Fage yogurt and Fage yogurt with peach pieces. The latter is so yummy omg!!!, but my dietitian told me to limit it because of its sugar content and eat the plain one.

I also love love love canned peaches, be they from a glass jar at Trader Joe's or from a can at Safeway. I would say it is the only fruit that I probably prefer processed than fresh or frozen. The texture is simply amazing.

Today:

stretching 45 mins

upright elliptical, 32 minutes

rower, 34 minutes minus a couple minutes for water breaks; covered 4500 meters.

On the upright elliptical, I chose a workout that simulates walking on wet sand in New Zealand. The ride is almost flat but with serious resistance, the kind of resistance that sand would give you. At some point the resistance level climbed to 16 and it was very difficult. The manual controls were right in front of me and I could have lowered the resistance, but I persevered, finished the workout and had that good feeling from actually pushing myself and overcoming an obstacle. Loved it. Makes me want to go for more.

I went to Orangetheory fitness today and had a terrific workout. On the treadmill, did intervals. For high intensity, did either 3mph with 8-10% incline or 4mph with 3% incline. For rest, did 3mph with 3% incline. My heart rate monitor's battery died after about 28 minutes, so not everything got recorded even though I continued pushing myself. What was recorded was sent to me via email:

15 splat points
143 average HR
162 peak HR (yes!!)

It was my first time getting more than 10 splat points. Their theory has it that you need "at least 12 Splat Points per class to achieve optimal caloric burn, even after your one-hour workout is done." So I got that today, even getting into maximal intensity red zone for 2 minutes.

After that at Orangetheory my group got to do some exercises with weights and flexibility exercises. We did not get to go on the rowing machines today.

Next time I plan to go to Orangetheory on Friday.
