Warning: Could trigger...please don't read further if you could be triggered.

So...as some/many of you know, I am a substitute teacher. I live in a small town...you know, a bad things don't happen here town.

Anyway...in the paper today was a article about a shooting in the area this past week. Basically, an ex boyfriend came to this woman's house and shot her 7 times. She tried to protect her child, but he killed him too. Then he went next door (it was a duplex) and killed the college student living there........

The thing is, I know the little boy. He was in a class I subbed for last year for 2 weeks (so I know this boy).

I'm just so sad that this sweet boy is gone. What a senseless loss. What kind of world do we live in? Heartless... Cold... Makes me sad (and a bit angry) just thinking about it.

Life is heartless and cold and what happened to that boy is beyond descibing words. I am so sorry. Please know that once the fear was gone he became safe. he does not have to live without his mom and he is not suffering. My biggest hurt over this was the fear they both must have experienced. I am so sorry for the loss of a precious young soul in your world.

Thank you ww and Ozzie... Sometimes I get very upset at the amount of unfair stuff that happens. Like, the amount of parents who have great kids...and don't care. I'm glad this little boy's mom knew how important he was and tried to protect him. You're right, ww, now he doesn't have to be without his mom.

It's nice to be able to share how I feel with others. It helps make things a little better.

This kind of senseless tragedy touches us when we don't know those involved. It must be so much more difficult when you know them. Please take care.
I can't understand what king of person is capable of hurting innocent children or the others for that matter.

Please take care.
