im really worried for my girlfriend who i think has started to SI, i might be wrong but being SI myself i can sort of tell.. i saw 3 small cuts on her wrist so i asked about them and she said they were her cat, i believed her but then i noticed further up her arm, just before her elbow where her shirt had moved up more cuts, i didnt stare so she dosent know. later i pointed out to her she had one cuff done up and the side with the cuts done up, she seemed very protective. im really worried, ive been thought the pain of SI and how you sometimes feel when you want to or have SI'ed so im wanting to ask but i dont want to accuse. i was thinking of when we were alone asking her to show me her arm look me in the eyes and tell me what it is.

I would suggest to her that you care very much for her and then ask her how she got the cuts. She may not want to share at first, just let her know that you are there to talk with her on the subject. In time she may open up to you.

Be very careful how you approach this
![]() You need to be very non-confrontational. Maybe, you should tell her about yourself & then wait to see if she shares. ![]()

Does your girl friend know about your SI? Perhaps you could 'confide' in her and share your struggle to stop the behavior.
