No matter how healthy I eat I can't lose weight. I exercise three times a week and eat right. Correct small portions and everything. My doctor tells me that I need to lose weight because I am at risk for diabetes. He said cut your serving portions in half. So I cut them in half again. Still no weight loss just gain. He says that I am cheating. I'm not. I kept a food diary and he thinks I left stuff out. I %$#ing give up. I eat so little that I might as well not be eating anything. I told him I struggled with anorexia in my teens. I just give up. All my docs are saying lose weigh lose weight. Why don't they just come out and say you are fat, go where we can't see you. Fine. He wants me to cut the portions again. I guess I am only going to eat a container of yogurt a day. And since I don't sleep at night and the YMCA is open 24-7, I will exercise all night. They want me thin well now they are going to get it.

Has your doctor checked your blood sugar levels and thyroid function? If these are imbalanced (hormones too), weight loss can be sorely hindered.

Your doctor doesn't sound very sensitive to you! I was on an anti-depressant that caused me to gain weight and my pdoc (since fired) completely believed I was lying. She even told my husband to set food traps to see if I was eating on the QT. I don't have a lot of respect for doctors who think we cheat!

Have you considered visiting a nutritionist? I think you are eating too little. This also slows metabolism as your body goes into starving mode. I'm sure you know all of this already.

Do you drink heaps of water?

I am struggling myself with my weight which does not want to budge despite 5 days a week at the gym, but then again my eating is not always what it should be, and I do admit that.

I really sense your frustration but please don't starve yourself. Perhaps you can consider looking for another doctor?

Sending you soothing thoughts.

I am looking for a doc in my area but none take my insurance. My husband called them today about my blood test results and they said my cholesteral was high. I am only 28. How can my cholesteral be high. They started back on the I need to eat healthy not greasy food...... My husband told them I eat like a rabbit, no grease, junk, candy, pop....... I think maybe now they got it. I drink and drink and drink water. I crave it. So yes I drink water. I am not going to starve myself, I was just angry yesterday. I am trying to follow the diabetic diet since I am hypoglycemic.

hey you..

miss you alot...

did you know that using the CPAC.. will cause you to drop weight.. yepper.. it will... if you can get 8 hours sleep..on it..

another thing that causes weight loss is calcium supplements - yepper.. 1600mg... don't take them all at once.. cause your body can only absorb.. about 500.. combine it with vit D and magnesium

and watch out for consipation...

and I just read an article that oolong tea is suppose to help.. haven't tried it yet..

((((((hugs)))))))))... I think of you often..

my ED.. is on the rapage.. LOL

Last night I moved my bed about 3 feet from the wall.. in the middle of the night and didn't remember it... it is wrought iron.. with my CPAC mask on.. how weird is that.. LOL..

last night

A friend of mine's 9 year old daughter has high cholesterol. It doesn't matter how old you are. In Emma's case, it's genetic -- her biodad died of a heart attack at 35. Part of cholesterol is inherited; only part of it is from your diet.

You may not be eating enough. I give up! ranting warning

Add more food...but only "free" food ...no or little calories and no fat. (Raw veggies and fruit.)

Your body may have shut down into starvation mode and is storing everything.

I've had doctors not believe me... it took one who cared to tell me the above.

Check the Holford Diet book out of the library (Glycemic loading computed for you.) It's full of good USEFUL information and guides for eating.

Keep doing what good you are doing, just because you haven't lost weight doesn't mean you aren't eating healthier.

(((hugs)))

Go to the Dr and tell him you want tested to see if you have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It's a condition that can be treated that makes you gain weight.

Hugs,

Jan

listen here, too many docs and people are too narrow-minded when it comes to weight. i've heard that you can be overweight and fit, especially if you eat healthy and have exercise. really, i'm not kidding. you know, you may have to set boundaries on how docs tell you things (i'm saying this to be in denial, ok). i'm saying this - be reasonable. some people don't eat much and actually healthy and get plenty of exercise and just don't lose weigh (sometimes weigh can be genetic, too). be loving to yourself. i know it's hard when docs are telling you that you're cheating or not doing it right. get another doc, if you have to. take care of yourself and love yourself.

Hello Twirls. I have to Agree with Sky. You may not be eating enough. I have Hypoglycemia and I have lost about 5 to 10 pounds in the last few months from eating regularly, instead of just eating on the run as I normally do.Eating enough makes a great difference in weight loss, if you dont get enough nutrition then you can not lose weight, even though it seems you would get thin the body actually holds on to calories and will not burn the calories accordingly.Try to eat sensibly and pay close attention to the portions on the diet it is possibly 2 to 3 times more than what you allow yourself to eat. A Hypoglycemic meal plan is developed tokeep the insulin levels more stable and that means eating more nutritional foods that help balance th system and eat appropriate portions. Maybe cutting down on the water wil help you eat better as well. It is good to hear that you are exercising which is one of the best things youcan do to feel better about yourself at this time.Take care Twirls. I hope the best for you in your future. I feel you should have your thyroid checked as well. Soidhonia
