I'm having some sugar cravings right now. I could really go for some more of that Twizzlers, or maybe some icecream, a shake--large, of course, a McFlurry with M&M's! The ideas are unlimited! Maybe some cake, peanut butter cups, B&J's choco fudge brownie, choco chip cookies, Archway molasses cookies would all be great, too! You know, this reminds me of an article I read recently. I should look it up. Meanwhile, I'm still hungry and not around any food nor a place where I can eat, anyway. Now I wonder, what is the basis for my hunger? Is it because I only had a large cinnamon raisin bagel for lunch and my body digested it already? Could it be that I am female and it's hormonal? (I'm on the pill, but have thought lately that my body might be getting tired of it.) Is it a lack of certain vitamins? Does it have a psychological basis? That article I read said something about skipping meals being bad because eventually you end up pigging out and going way off the diet. My norm is to skip eating--which my T kind of has a problem with. Since about Thursday, though, I've been almost ravinous in comparison to my usual.

Hi inkblot,
I don't think skipping meals is a good idea. When you do, your body retains the more all the fat and the sugar that follows eventually. I've tried it without success. Eating between meals (except for vegetables) is also not a good habitude. Eat 3 meals a day, try to avoid food with fat (fried foods, french fries, chips, chocolate, pastries, cheeze). Once in a while is ok, but try to cut on this type of food. Eat plenty of vegetables. Slushes, Colas, Kool-Aids are products full of sugar. Use it with moderation. Do you think you might have a food consuming disorder ? Skeaping meals and/or eating between meals is not recommended at all. So eat well when it's time and you'll be fine ! p.s. : try to figure how many calories there is in a McFlurry with M & N's, lol... Sincerely, Starbuck Born in 1963 of French mom and Canadian dad. My habits vary. There are times when I'll go several days hardly eating anything at all. That's actually what I was doing up until around Thursday or midweek last week. I've been more hungry since. Of course, I made that one post about my wonderful, highly caloric, Twizzler's licorice then. Two or three psychologists seem to think that I do have an eating disorder. I love to be thin and I like the feel of "thin". Sometimes I just feel that it doesn't matter if I eat or not, that I do okay without. It's almost hard to explain because there is so much to it. In the past it was always normal for me to have hormonal sugar cravings prior to periods. I know that skipping meals nor making a meal out of junk food is really all that healthy. Bad habits. Oh, I have a nutrition content list for all McDonald's foods out in the car, so I could look up a McFlurry! LOL

Hello,
What do you mean by feeling "thin" : normally "thin" or anorexic "thin" ? There's a difference... Take care, Starbuck Born in 1963 of French mom and Canadian dad. Studied and worked (Majors in History, Theology. M.A. in Sociology).

Well, for feeling thin, I guess it depends on your own opinion and interpretation. To me, it's "normal" thin. Of course, I also like to be able to see my ribs. To me it's not anorexic thin. When I'm like this, I like the way it feels when the stomach is totally empty, all the way through the tract. I was 100 lbs. once, but I'm honestly not even sure how that happened but bad habits in a time of stress, I guess. My weight hasn't been that low in a little over three years. It's more of a low-normal right now. It jumps around.

Ink, reading all those wonderful things to eat made me raid my fridge looking for chocolate...........lol.
If you're going to diet, watch what you eat and cut back, not cut out entirely. It's not good for you or your system. Mary Alice ![]() |

Hi, well I guess you can eat Twizllers from time to time, lol...
I took some weight in my late thirties, now I'm at 215 lbs. Good thing that I'm rather a tall man at 6' 1''. I have to be careful on what I eat, and yes it's tough sometimes, since I like Junk food. Got a new bicycle, I'll have to hit the road more than once a week, hehe... Take care inkblot, Sincerely Starbuck Born in 1963 of French mom and Canadian dad. I already posted this in pets, plants, & fun stuff, but I had you in mind when I was looking for it, so I want to make sure you see it. Here are those diet tips (& The Stress Diet) that I was trying to remember some time back.
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.annabella.net/diet.html>http://www.annabella.net/diet.html</A> When you severely restrict your eating, the body rebels and often the result is that will-power goes entirely out the window and you eat a lot more, particularly junk food, than you ever would have otherwise. So don't completely hold yourself back from having treats. Allow yourself to have a little bit on a regular basis - deprivation just doesn't work very well. I use those diet rules all the time! ![]() ![]() <font color=orange>"If we are going to insist that people pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, we must ensure that they have boots."</font color=orange>
