quick update. they made dad get a stress test and doplar on his coroitid arteries for his biopsy. his artery is 100% blocked. errrrrrrrr another issue. he told me if this is cancer he will not let them clean the artery. we are really hoping for the best here. please continue the prayers.

nephew is doing wonderful right now! woo hoo

I am sad to hear of this recent development. Give your Dad time to really think the situation through & make sure he gets good medical councelling so that he has all the facts possible to base his decisions on. That is the most important thing is honesty by all the Dr's involved. Family together should sit down with him & go over the options too....talking them through with him.

Sounds like his initial reaction is to just give up......but there isn't enough information to base any decisions on at this point.....he needs to know that too.

My prayers are with you & your family & the Dr's for strength & wisdom to do the right thing,

they couldn't do his biopsy today. they have to do surgery on the artery first. he sees the vascular dr sept 12. errrrrrrr then after that will be the biopsy.

sorry about the complications with your dad bebop. it is so hard when elderly people have so many medical issues and they dont have the will to fight any more. my grandmother is sick at the moment too. she has just decided shes not going to eat any more until she dies. shes been advised to go to hospital but is refusing saying shes just tired and ready to go now. it is a hard thing to accept and to deal with. its hard to know how to react. hopefully things will turn out less serious for you dad and he will see the point of carrying on.
im glad your nephew is doing well though.

yes biiv you are right. right now I think he still has some will to live but he is so ready to go. he is tired. thanks hon.

unfortunately i can totally understand the impulse to take the apparently easy route. not that ive ever been in a mildly comparable situation. i do hope he can channel that will into a serious fight. for your sake and the rest of his families.

dad sees the new vascular dr on the 12th. I guess about a week later they will do his caroitid artery surgery. I told my stepmom to see if they can coordinate both at the same time to save him from 2 stays in the hospital back to back and to keep from putting him to sleep 2x's. the bad thing is he really needs this biopsy. he is urniating blood mostly now. scarey to me. errrrrrr

that would be good if they could get both done during the same hospital stay alright. i cant imagine how scary it must be to see your dad so sick. hang in there. the 12th isnt too far away.
