about this place...

eh... i soooo shouldn't post this but...

I've been here long enough to start feeling like "home" and like people here were my friends. The problem with that is... the more accustomed i get to something the worse i feel about change. And well, this place changes all the time I'm not saying it shouldn't, at least i try not to say that... It's just that.. Well i just felt like "sharing"

I just can't explain this (wrote like ten sentences that didn't make any sense) ..eh.. Well, em.. I sort of start to feel like back in school. I only had few friends and I wasn't really even cabable to make more. Except as a little kid but that was different me

Aaaanywho... school.. it's the same here now, in the sense that I feel secure with these few people... then there's lots and lots of people who i just can't connect with, like i somehow had that compartment fully booked and there was room for no more.
Am I making ANY sense at all? Probably not
Anyways... yeah.. and like in school there's those few that i'm just afraid of i feel soooo guilty about it, but that's just.. äh.. makes me scared to say anything cuz i really don't want to hear any truths about myself or something.. argh..

Hey - Do you know how many people there are here? I've been on this site for 2 years, and I can't keep up either. I feel lucky if there are 3 or 4 people who would notice if I was gone... and it's not even usually that many!

It's not high school and I don't think people should see 'cliques'. There are groups of people who have gotten to know each other well by spending time in Chat, but I have never once seen any incident where anyone was intentionally excluded.

I think it is really natural to feel more comfortable with a few certain people, everybody does that to some degree. I'm a little confused though, are you saying that you feel uncomfortable with so many new people or that you find some people frightening? I'm new, I hope you will give me a chance. If not, I'll understand.

No need to feel afraid were all pretty nice here and if you nervous around someone just pM someone you feel comfortable with and get some input, I'm here every day as you have probably seen and I don't bite

yeah i kinda tried to be vague so i wouldn't hurt anyone or seem TOO stupid eh... i meant i am uncomfortable with all the new people (which i know is stupid cuz i'm still new too ) and then there's some people that actually remind me alot of some of those schoolmates that made me scared to go to school every day....

None of us can help what we feel sweetie. You're fully entitled to your feelings and nobody can take that away from you. Just wish I knew how to make you feel more comfortable, that's all.

Please don't be sorry. I think it's good you spoke up. Many times when we confront our fears like that we find out they weren't nearly as frightening as we made them out to be. Everybody comes here to get and give support. If you read a thread that makes you uncomfortable, don't respond to it and don't go back to it. And if there are people you are most comfortable with, you can track their posts and stick with them. Keep posting sweetie. TgrsPurr.

and that there's new people "coming in" every day... well it just makes me nervous. There's like no time to things to calm down

this is very much like in real life, i just get nervous easily. And the people i'm afraid of... well even now writing this i'm scared of getting a response that i can always just leave if i don't like it here. Just in a meaner way... eh and yet there's that silly feeling of groundless security like those people were unable to see this post like we were whispering or something. I'm just so crazy am I?

I'm sorry that you're feeling so nervous. As a newcomer, is there anything that I can do to help you feel better? Have I personally done anything that upsets you? If it's just the presence of newcomers, I guess I can keep my distance if that's what you would prefer.

no u silly girl i mean like the new users who just keep registering and registering and anyway, this is my problem, not anyone else's (can u even say that? man i can't write! ) i avoid the chat when it's busiest, it's like in real life, it just gets too "loud" if u know what i mean...? I just can't take that these days i need peace and quiet... I get that shortness of breath when there's a lot going on.

Laura, I always had lots of so called friends... but less than a handful of REAL friends. The so called ones were those that I could hang out with if one of the REAL friends was there. Maybe that sounds silly, but that's me.

Otherwise, if someone does something that makes you feel uncomfortable, feel free to pm any of the moderators. We are here to help you stay safe.

I can also relate to how you feel. I'm like that on the boards, and in real life, too. I don't like new people in "my" territory and I get really nervous about it. I have found in the past, though, that if I try to keep my nervousness/hostility/jealousy/territorial feelings/pain/fear all that from controlling my actions and my thoughts too much, in time, I get used to the new people and feel MUCH better. In fact, some of the new people I was nervous about in the beginning have become people I care a LOT about! Some of my favorite people now! Here, it usually takes me a while before I start to respond very much to any new person. I like to get to know people before I try to help them usually, so I hang back and watch their posts before I jump in normally.

Hope that makes sense. Anyway, point is I do relate a lot. And there are a few people here I"m not comfortable with, too. I'm sure there are people not comfortable with me. Everyone is different and not everybody clicks, you know?
