I am not feeling so good, I am trying to get used to the new dosage of the efexor and every day when i wake up i have a head ache from hell which means that i cant get up and about. I have also noticed that I am feeling disoriented and confused when I wake up. I woke up the other day and felt totally out of it, quite scary because i am living alone now as my son has joined the army. The T just says bear with it for a couple more weeks, it takes a while for your body to adjust. Have tried the benedryl and that doesnt really help??? grrrrrrr. I am getting tired of this issue now, very tired.

Hi Tracy!!!!!!!!!!

I am really sorry your going through this. I am on Effexor and I know how difficult regualtion of this med can be.

What time of the day do you take this med? That can make a huge difference. How long have you been taking it? There is definitly an adjustment period.

Huggles,

Jen

Benedyl doesnt work for anxiety or depression. It is prescribed for allergies because it is an antihistamine. It is also prescribed for insomnia because it contains the drug Dyphenhydramine which is found in sleeping pills and is a depressant. It does not contain any antdepressant medications so it will not help with depression or anxiety. There are some meds that benedryl should NOT be taken with certain antidepressants.

Aw sorry you feel bad. (((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))
Things will get better. I know it probably doesn't feel like it but I'm hoping it does get better really soon for you.

tracylee,
You wrote,[...not feeling...good.....wake up..head ache from....disoriented and confused....totally out of it....the T says just bear with it for a couple of.. weeks....I am getting tired of this issue...very tired....].
I could offer you support from my perspective if you would like either by PM or on the forum at large. There is a continuing body of expanding knowlege about the drug that you have been prescribed,O-venlafaxine, that may be unbeknowing to you that could be of benifit to your situation that you describe.
Your statement that you are getting tired of this issue could mean volumes that we could have dialog together about.

Tracy, as one who has been on a few different meds, I've found out that the human body, naturally, has to adjust to either a new drug or a new dosage. It would not be normal for the body to not have some responses to said changes. Did you have a big increase in dosage? And how long have you been on Effexor? I was on Effexor and probably can help you with this. xoxoxo pat PM me...I'll come home for lunch.

That would be great!! I am getting really desperate with the whole situation and I am beginning to dread taking the medication now because of the awful side affects. Thanks so much. I dont mind which method you use, maybe if you put it in the forum bits it might help some one else as well?? Look forward to hearing from you. T xx

Hi,

I completely know what you are talking about with Effexor. When I was on it, I had crazy dreams, I drove on the wrong side of the road when I had to wake up early to take my kids to school, and once I woke up from a nap and let a friend into my house but then I wasnt sure she was really there....... I had to ask her if she was.

I will be curious to see if the confusion stops for you eventually. I didnt stay on it long enough to find out if it gets better with time.

Good luck! Bailey
