hi i went to the doctor and had a checkup and i told him that i had nerves and asked him about mirtazpine and he asked me a few questions and then i am on cymbalta for depression. it helps fine with the depression but not my nerves. so he did not give it to me because of it is dangerous to have two AD together. so i am seeing my mental doctor on July 13th and wondering if I can stop taking cymbalta and take mirtazpine if he gives it to me

I would go see the doctor, ask him your questions, and then go from there. If you can, I might also get a second opinion just in case to further the hopes of getting your answers to your questions met and to also get a peace of mind about everything. I take Mirtazapine and it is a good drug for my depression and anxiety combined together. Plus, it helps me to sleep. I would also look up information on the internet regarding these drugs that you are referring to and that can help you decide which one is best or which is the best outcome. Thank you and I wish you the best.

I took mirtazapine with another AD. It's not dangerous to take two AD's...lots of people do so.

Thank you for talking about your medication. I take Mirtazapine and it is a good medication for my depression which I do have and was diagnosed for and it also helps my anxiety as well. If you would like to know more about the medication itself, please contact your doctor or nurse. You can also do an internet search about Mirtazapine in order to get the best answers. I wish you the best and I hope that things will work out for your medication.

Hi this is what i was asking about
sing mirtazapine together with DULoxetine can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe cases may result in coma and even death. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience these symptoms while taking the medications. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
i probaly going to ask my phsyial about adding this medication!
Thanks for this!

That is a good idea to ask the doctor about Mirtazapine for several reasons. It helps the depression symptoms by increasing the Seratonin levels of the brain. It also helps reduce anxiety by making you feel relaxed. I take that drug every night and it has helped me a great deal. Whenever I have a panic attack and feel like I cannot breathe, when I take Mirtazapine, it helps to relieve the tension of the anxiety attack and it also relieves my depression symptoms. I would ask other people if they have ever taken that drug before and also do some research about it on the internet. Thank you and I wish you the best.

I would definitely ask your doctor first before switching to a different drug. The doctor told me that if I need to switch to a different drug, I would have to ask them first and then take the new drug. The reason is because these types of drugs cannot just be stopped completely; they have to be lowered down to the lowest dose and then stopped. So, it is wise to let the doctor monitor you and to advise you.

Mirtazapine is the worst antidepressant I have tried and Cymbalta is the best. But everyone is different and I know people who respond well to Mirtazapine.

For most people it is not dangerous and even though I have taken two serotonin modulator antidepressants I would not recommend others to do so without consulting a physician.

I am glad that you are going to the doctor to see about getting the medication. That is a wonderful idea. I take mirtazapine every night for my depression and anxiety. It helps me feel better, helps with the chemicals in the brain, and it gives me a pretty good appetite. It does make me sleep well at night most every night; so you will get a good night's sleep. Just make sure that you do not drive after you take the medication. I wish you the best.

I do take Mirtazapine along with Cymbalta, same combination. 15mg Mirtazapine and 60mg Cymbalta. Doc first told me to take both before sleep. But soon I found out that Cymbalta works best when taken in the morning, and I still take Mirtazapine before sleep.

Before that, I was taking Lexapro in the morning and Mirtazapine in the evening. I went up to 30mg Lexapro and then slowly tapered off withing two months. Then within a period of three days I was paced in to Cymbalta.

Cymbalta Delayed Release is called Diliner and Lexapro as Nodep over here in Sri Lanka and India.

Changing medication is always very difficult; even when the pharmacy changes manufactures. I can remember when my pharmacy told me that they had to change manufactures and it was because of that choice that I had to change pharmacies. I took Mirtazapine and I did not want to change manufactures because it gave me heart palpate strongly and it also made me sick. So, I researched other pharmacies and found Target pharmacy to stay with the same manufacture that I had before for the Mirtazapine. When you are changing medications, I would ask your doctor and or pharmacist and do lots of internet research. I have been taking this drug for about 14 years and it has helped me a lot, but I still had to ask questions and I continue to do so. Good luck to you.

Changing medications can be easy and hard at the same time. The easy aspect is that it can help you feel better. The hard aspect is that it can lead to other things that can have side effects that can be adverse. So, the best way to help your overall health and to help you have a successful transition, the best advice is to speak with your doctor and pharmacist about how to help change the medication and have a good and healthy change of medication. The best outcome would be for you to have a good change of medication with no side effects.

it may be with some , i take it with olanzapine an anti-psychotic med , now that will help anxiety, but its the med that makes you fat, worse than MIRTAZAPINE an i take both. I am not fat yet but then again i dont eat much, i was put on anti psychotic med because no AD will touch my anxiety , i dont no any that do really , there for depression , of course if you depression lifts so will anxiety , only BENZO,S give relief after 20 minutes

I think that whatever works best for you is what you should do. Whatever medication that you want to take and change is what you should be doing. Sometimes, one medication works better than the other and sometimes your body needs to change medications because it has stopped working properly. So, it is best to do what the best solution would be and that would be to change medications.

Mirtazapine is a good drug of choice and I am glad that you have decided to take it. I think that it helps to have an understanding about your medication and therefore you can ask the pharmacist to explain to you about what the medication does. I have been taking the medicine since 2002 and it helps me to sleep better.
