So, what does your T look like?
Flannel shirts and blue jeans?
Suit and tie?
or
Skirts and blouse?
Or even shorts in summer?

And, second question:
Do you dress differently than you normally do? Do you spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear? Do you match your style to your mood?

Thanks for this!

He could easily pass as either a monk or a hippie, in organic clothes and socks that never quite match his sandals. Although he can look very professional if he has a need to.

Harry Potter glasses and a crew cut

Tall and strong but a big goofy grin

I tend to go in whatever clothes feel easiest to hide behind that day. Lots of oversized sweaters or hoodies.

My T sometimes looks professional, but most of the time very laid back clothing. Sweaters and such. She seems fairly laxidazialy (not sure how to spell that).

I normally go straight from work, so whatever I'm wearing for work. Normally dress clothes. If I wasn't going from work - jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie!

I would say she's very fun looking. Her looks are Mediterranean-like. I have never seen her wear a suit or a blazer...she wears a lot of wild patterns and shoes. Recently I have noticed her wearing all black. She always wears fun glasses, for years she had the classic black "Buddy Holly" glasses but now I have seen her switch to red or blue ones. She did tell me once (I don't remember what we were talking about) that people tell her sometimes "You don't look like a psychologist!"...whatever that means, I guess a psychologist is supposed to look dowdy and like they let themselves go?

My relationship with T is primarily phone-based nowadays, but when I am in her office I dress like I always dress, very casual but not too frumpy-looking. Sometimes I will throw on lots of concealer under my eyes so she doesn't think I look like a total wreck! (I have dark circles a lot). LOL!

Medium height, full figured, shoulder length, amber colored eyes, curly reddish-brown hair. Her nose is a bit crooked, but I think she's beautiful anyway.
She is always well dressed, stylish. Wears skirts often when it's warmer, but not in the winter. She wears earthy colors a lot. Lovely jewelry, clunky necklaces.....makes her own jewelry which I just learned (I was thinking, yeah, she must be doing well money-wise, to wear such pretty jewelry, but she said she makes her own because she hates to spend a lot of money on jewelry).
I try to look nice....partly because I know she will but mostly because I simply like to look nice, anyway, and present well. I don't wear sloppy clothes, ever. Even when I feel crappy, I want to look put-together. I don't wear makeup, but I do always make sure my hair is freshly washed before a session. For some reason, I don't want my hair to look oily or unwashed. And I put on my special perfume.....that I have to roll my eyes at myself about. As if I'm going to impress her....sheesh.....

Does he always wear sandals?
Hoodies are the best thing to hide! I love being able to hide my hands too because I tend to clench them

hm, I think, FOR ME, Ellis description pretty much fits a "typical" psychologist
I never wear as much make up as to therapy (and it's still natural but more than usual, especially the concealer and waterproof mascara).

Oh I love your description!! My Ts coat always hangs outside and once I had to wait really long so I peaked and it was a designer coat totally bothers me somehow. I don't know why.
I try to look nice too. I mean, I'm messed up inside, so I at least want to make the impression that I can pass as normal (of course you could say "why bother"). I only ever wear perfume to therapy too. And my hair.. same here!!

When he's dressed up for something he has normal shoes, but yup, almost always socks and sandals. On Valentines Day he had on a dull red shirt. Shocked the heck out of me because it was the first time I'd seen him in anything not brown/grey

Now I always feel stupid when I mention names of stores I shop at... not that it comes up often but sometimes it does. And I don't have that kind of money so I always feel kinda cheap, knowing she can afford such expensive stuff.

awww, but how sweet, do you think he chose it as a "manly" color for pink?

One of the things that drove me crazy about my old T was that she always dressed very professional. She looked like she walked out of a fashion magazine.
The T I see now dresses a little more laid back but still looks nice. I always dress up a little for T. I am a stay at home mom, so it is nice to put on dress clothes and of course my favorite dress boots, the make me feel a little sassy.

Mine is about 50, balding. Wears glasses that always slide down his nose. He wears button-down, long-sleeved shirts with slacks and loafers. Kinda dress casual. His pants are always a bit too short, so I can see his socks real good when he sits down. He's bit overweight in the tummy, but handsome nonetheless. His socks are always black, btw. lol.
Oh, and, I put on makeup to see him. Don't always wear makeup except when I got somewhere to go such as out to eat or whatever.

I like this thread.

My T is black, mid-40's, long hair, with a bit of a gap between her two front teeth. Thin, tall, reserved. Seems athletic, probably. She wears business casual -- khakis and a nice blouse, things like that. Always well put-together. She dresses nicely, but I usually dress more nicely than she does (I leave therapy and go straight to work).

I choose my outfits ahead of time for T. I always wear my best outfit of the week on Thursday. I pick my clothes for the whole week on Sunday so I can make sure to save the best outfit for therapy day.

I didn't feel the need to impress my old T, but I do feel that need with this T for some reason.

My former T looked like Abraham Lincoln. Not as tall, but he played the part when the clinic had parties.

I thought it was just me that wore my nice clothes to T! And perfume. I always wear make up but on T day I take ectra time and over that and my hair. I feel so relieved that others do too...

T just wears a shirt and trousers. He doesnt have any distinguishing features at all. He just looks "normal" and I like that about him.

T is in his 40's and looks like the other southern guys in the area. He is handsome but doesn't know it. His eyes are kind and honest. Others may say he is a bit heavy, and he notes it from time to time mentioning needing to work out more, but he really isn't big... He is just healthy. He always has nice dress shoes and long feet! LOL! And before anyone gets into the transference comments about that, I do allow myself to wonder if the myth is true, but I am gay and have no need to dwell on the question. LOL. I just notice the feet because I tend to look at them a lot.
He wears dress slacks and a button shirt, but he is not stuffy at all. He has a nice boyish hairstyle that is playful. Just a decent guy who could be your doctor, lawyer, or plumber and be likeable in any role.

I usually see him right after work, so I am in my jeans and a shirt. I don't have to dress up for work, so that is good because I am not into dressing up - at all. One alter loves to dress up, but that part of me doesn't come out much. She hates the way I dress. Too bad :-) Do I dress up for T? Yes and no. He made a comment once about liking a certain pair of sneakers I love, and I find myself wanting to wear those on session day. That is transference with me wanting to make my father like me though and I know it. So I debate from time to time about that and make sure I wear what I want without regard to what I think T wants. So that is that.

I'm not sure. I am so inattentive to that kind of thing. I know she doesn't dress up in conservative or formal clothes. I guess she's comfortable casual. I'll be sure to look more closely next time.

Me, I dress casual casual casual. Even sweatpants sometimes. I never dress up and hate it. And now that we're sitting on the floor, casual makes even more sense. Of course, you must understand that we in California thrive on casual.

My T loves to dress and shop and she is very very fashionable.
I used to spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear. I used to want to buy clothes that looked like hers and did several times. They are no longer part of my closet: they were not me, they were her. lol

I used to spend a lot of time thinking about what to wear, but now I usually go right from work and we dress casual there. One time, when I was sooo wanting her to hug me, I used to choose what I wore based on if I thought it might be appealing to someone thinking about hugging another someone. lol I told her about that

My T is an older man, handsome, white hair and he dresses either in suit and tie or dress shirt/pants. Since he comes to the office after his work at the hospital, the only time I've seen him casual is when he's on break.
I wear anything from looking grungy to full make up and skirt.

My T is a beautiful woman in her first forties.
She usually wears a big variety of dresses.. often with skirt suit, other times with nice sweaters, other times other stuff... but always in a nice fashion, at least for my point of view. Sometimes in the summer she wears a bit more formal but she's always elegant.

For myself.. I must admit that I take more care of my appearence than the normal, when I'm going to a session .

haha, I just thought of something along this line...I have noticed that T has had the same car for the past 7 years or so. It's not an expensive model, I don't know...I just think that's interesting...like she doesn't need to drive a Mercedes or Escalade. She is in full-time private practice so I bet she does fairly well for herself.
