Granite-are you getting enough calories? 125 for breakfast seems low. But, hell-what do I know about food. lol. You pose an interesting question about what do we do for ourself to show kindness. Some of the things I do are:
-Watch a favorite show on TV -Leave the cleaning for another day instead of forcing myself to do it on a bad day. -Come on Psych Central couch to receive support and insight. -Sign off if it gets too triggering -Buy my 5HTP vitamins even though money is tight and every penny counts. -Cry when I need to instead of using energy to hold it together. -Text T with something menial just to feel connected -Take care of myself by showering everyday even though Im depressed -Take walks in the woods -eat my favorite snack and drop the worry about calories for that moment. I finally made it to work about 11:30. My boss had no problems with me missing the deadline. Thank God for him!! Seriously...best.boss.ever.
![]() I know I need to talk to him about what's going on with me. He's not the best listener in the world (he loves to talk), but he needs to know what I'm going through in therapy (he already knows I'm in therapy and when asked, told me he's seen a huge improvement in my demeanor) and physically (that I'm going to have to see a neurologist for my hand and that I'm in a fair amount of pain). I'm sitting behind him in his office and he's poring over budget numbers. Man can run a budget.

Chopin, would be easier to talk to him and not be specific? Especially since he is not a good listener and especially since he is your boss. Can you just say that you are having some issues that you are working on? It already seems as though he is providing some leniency since he did flip that you missed the deadline.

JBmomg...welcome! Have a seat on the couch and stay awhile. All are welcomed here. And this is a place where you can chat about anything you like.
Its raining where I am to, but now it looks like the sun is trying to come out again |

Good luck with that, unless he asks you may be just fine, as you have confided in him already. I told my HR rep what was going on and she communicated to my boss what he needed to know. On another note...new meds and new Doc today..... Effoxr and Ativan exchanged for Lexapro and Xanax...wish me luck ![]() |

He said in his household that when his kids (ages 10 and 12) get whiny, he and his wife remind them of their pregnant cat (aptly named Ferocious) and says, if Ferocious can handle it, so can you! That all sounds flippant, but he's really not; he really cares about his employees. When you feel down, he tries to make you laugh and that's what he was doing. I've been on Lexapro; worked well for depression for me. I take Zoloft now because it helps the OCD symptoms.

Good Luck Lola...
When I was on lexapro it made me super skinny and xnanx gave me bad anxiety. All these meds effect everyone different though. I found that Welbutrin, Topamax (For mood swings) and Klonopin as needed works for me. You keep playing-eventually you will find the right ones. |

TTGB...I understand money problems...even though both H and I are working. I just subtracted the bills from the money we have and came up $84.29 in the negative. We also need groceries. Somebody ain't gettin' paid, because I'm gonna eat.

TTGB- why are YOU looking for him a job? Im not trying to be rude but as your spouse shouldnt he take some responsabiolity for his part in the finacial situation of you and your family? I call BS.... I would dig ditches and sell my bodily fluids to make sure my partner didnt have to worry about money. just saying |

Yes I don't know what his issue is and then when go to discuss it with him and tell him it's high time to wake the f u c k up, he ignores me or gets angry. I told him I'm going to go find a place to stay and he can go to his sisters.

Aw, come on. Why do sisters always have to take up the slack?
Joking, of course, but I've given my sister a rent-free place to live for longer than I want to admit. Love her. But she needs to move. |
