stopdog, it's because we're staring at their feet instead of their faces.

My T actually startled me a few times today by talking to me. I was lost in my head, and then he would talk and I would kind of jerk back from where I was. I'm sure I looked like an idiot.

Wiki - I don't wan't to speak for others, but I don't think that you are the reason we have been thinking about T's leaving us. For me, I know it's my own issues. My fears were not led on by anyone else. Also, even with my fear, I think we are all statistically safe. I think most of our T's are there to help us. That includes your T.

I look away but not at the woman's feet. I look to my left at the wall and count these little dots that are on there or just past her ear out the window.

He said I would have to harm his children. I was just perplexed by that. First of all, why on god's green earth would I harm any child, least of all his, and second of all, I don't even know where he lives or where they go to school. And so he proceeds to tell me where they go to school. ?? What. The. ****? Anyway. Since I have no plans to harm children, apparently he has no plans to leave me. I seriously much have asked five different times in five different ways if he was sick of me or going to leave me. Then I was angry at myself for being a total four year old about the whole thing. I said I was his 'remedial client' but he assured me I am not. I wanted to ask him who was, but I know he wouldn't answer that anyway.
Oh noes! I hope I was not one of those people. Trust me, if anything like what's happening between my T and me starts happening to you, you will see it coming a million miles away. I also sincerely believe that many problems with therapy in this world could be solved by less Freud. Sorry Sigmund, you got things off to a really good start but boy do your issues come screaming through your psychoanalytic theories. Anyway your T doesn't sound very Freudian.

Also... harming his children... that's... weird. But it means you're set

I don't think you're really being a four year old. Just turn on the radio and listen to all the adults singing their tales of woe after being left/leaving someone they shouldn't have left/leaving someone they should have left along time ago/fearing someone is going to leave/leaving before someone else can leave them.

I also like to point out occasionally to anyone who will listen that a lot of the songs about "Damn, I shouldn't have left you and now you're with someone who makes you happy," are sung by men, while the "Jerk, I can't believe you left me but I'll make it on my own" songs are sung by women.
Thanks for this!

I had a friend in high school whose cat was really into feet. I slept over her place once, and must have been warm because my feet ended up exposed. I woke up to see her cat enthusiastically licking my toes. I gasped, "Fluffy!" [not the cat's real name]. He looked up with what looked like the cat version of being totally caught in the act, and just stared at me for a second, then turned and ran away.

I will guess that my T is wearing slippers, socks, or is barefoot as she had surgery yesterday. That being said, she has terrible taste in shoes.

The repurcussions would be too horrible to imagine.
I would send myself straight to re-education camp or military school.

I do my best.

Actually, it's because the cat has the same name as my husband, and even though none of you know that it still feels weird to write it.
Thanks for this!
