I was in the same boat. Not enough energy to make it so I was using store bought. I do use those ingredients. Do you cook yours on the stove? I tried a different recipe this time - no letting is "set" overnight. This one had you add extra water right away. I left extra space in each jug in case it gets too thick.

Yup. I love the smell of it too. It just smells clean to me. I used to be fascinated with my grandmother's wringer washer. She was still using it in the 1980s. We were not allowed to use it. I think she was afraid we'd wring a hand.

I am stinking up the neighborhood by cooking my bacon outside in an electric frying pan.

If someone was frying bacon in my neighborhood, I wouldn't call it "stinking up" the 'hood, I'd consider it an olfactory beautification project!!!

Yes, I boil shaved fels naptha on the stove until it melts....and then I pour it in a 5 gallon container, add the other ingredients, and then fill with hot water. The hardest part for me is grating the fels naptha...I'm such a weakling....LOL

Thanks for asking-not really sure why I am sad. Just a lot of stuff lately mixed with mood swings. I'm gonna go lay down and watch a movie.
Laying down and watching a movie sounds like a good idea....

I survived my tasks for the day, with the exception of one that got canceled...which I'm grateful for. I am going to pop in a DVD, have something for dinner and crash.....

I saw a recipe where you melt the soap in the microwave instead of grating. I haven't tried it. I'll see if I can find it on my pinterest boards.

Have you ever sprinkled brown sugar on bacon and baked it? When the fat renders and mixes with the sugar, it caramelizes and DOES become meat candy.

Sally...I do empathize with you regarding certain odors when cooking. I think any kind of beef smells terrible when cooking. I'm actually not a great fan of beef. Only occasionally do I crave hamburgers, steak, etc. I especially hate prime rib.

However, any other meat is fair game!

I can't stand frying mushrooms. When I was a kid it made me feel sick. Turns out I am intolerant of most mushrooms. (Think lactose intolerance but with mushrooms.)

Edit : Duh - meant mushrooms, typed onions. The beer is setting in.

MUE - this recipe talks about melting the soap. But I've seen other posts where if goes nuts and turns into a soap volcano

Flour tortilla....couple tablespoons of sauce...sprinkle of cheese....whatever toppings you want....bake for 5-7 minutes....viola! Dinner is served. LOL
