Finally home, heading to bed soon. I used to love socalizing hanging out with family, I was so miserable today. Just wanted to be cuddled in bed with my pup. Life is safer, warmer... in bed. On a postive note, the food was good!

Omg...never doing this again no matter how good the deals are. I got swarmed by people and shut down in the middle of the aisle... Managed to get out and found my bf... Sigh. At least he got the tablet he wanted.

Just got back from Thanksgiving dinner....and it went very well. The food was delicious, and it was pretty stress free. I was sooo tired before going over there, and then after eating a big meal, I was pretty much in a coma for a while....

The kids begged to let my daughter stay overnight, so she is still at my sister's house....which means I have a kid-free night. Woo hoo! I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity to sleep in! (20 years ago, my plans would've been wayyyy different - I feel so old, LOL)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving....

All right. Project Thanksgiving is ready. All the food is ready for tomorrow. Talked to my dad tonight and they're coming over at 1 pm.

H and I got the muzzle on the dog. Then, by the time H's BFF came over, the dog managed to get it off. He's wearing it around his neck. We keep commenting on his "bling".

There are lots of really great youtube videos if you decide to do some desensitisation work. A good behaviourist would probably help steer you guys back on track.

Only if you're interested of course, if you wanted to use a clicker for desensitisation (to brushes, washing, or anything else) this is a really effective method, and it will help build trust.
Rather than muzzling, although I know it must be necessary sometimes, I'd start really slowly by using this method to introduce the feared objects or situations. Only one possible option, and just what I'd choose to do. So thought it was worth suggesting.

I do think you'll be able to work through this.

Morning all..

I am going to attempt to do the beach walk this morning, just waiting for sunrise so we don't run into coyotes.

Roasted Pepper/tomato soup...no recipe, but i am a big soup person. I would roast the tomatoes and peppers over a flame (or in a boiler). Maybe about 6 tomatoes and 4 peppers. I'd use orange peppers. Then throw them in a paper bag for like 5 minutes. When they've cooled enough peel the char off of them and dice. Saucepan, med-low, a little olive oil, cook some onion and garlic, and maybe 1 diced carrot. (don't let it brown, just till the onion is translucent), add peppers and tomatoes...fresh thyme, basil, salt and pepper. (maybe red pepper flakes if you like a little heat) cook until reduced ny about 30%. Strain into a bowl, and then puree the stuff in the strainer. Back at the sauce pan, a bit of butter, a couple tablespoons of flour (make a rue), put puree and liquid in, add some veggie stock, cook until thickened. I would go all by taste and texture. That's a shot, unless someone has a concrete recipe.

Awww....I know that feeling. Remember, there is no lock on it. You can try it and if you have to leave you can leave. No shame in that. We can only do what we are able.

Good morning couch!! Anybody brave the crazy crowds last night? I did not, last year I did, but I didn't have it in me this year. H and I are going to go out this morning and hopefully finish the rest of the stuff on our list and enjoy lunch while the kiddos are with my ILs...

I am hoping that I do okay today.. Last night was terrible, everytime I tried to relax I felt a panic attack coming on, didn't sleep much at all. That mixed with the depression getting worse and a talk with my T.. I will be heading to my GP to talk about a med change up, or made add something to my exsisting medicine. I am very fearful that things are going to get bad again for me. And, I have a lot more on the line right now if they do. Last year at this time panic was setting in, but I could panic all night and didn't have to be anywhere the next morning. Now, I have work and school coming this winter.. I can't let this interupt my life!!

Sorry healed...try to relax some today. You are taking a lot on at once, and it's the holiday season as well! Just knowing you're enrolling is enough to send you into a panic. Take care of YOU this weekend!

I have made variations of this one

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Roasted...up/Detail.aspx

Or this
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/p...ipe/index.html

Sometimes I add a potato for thicker texture. And I don't always add the cream or I do add cream or yogurt even if not called for.
Thanks for this!

I have added coconut milk to soup when cooking for my vegan brother in law. It adds a really nice flavor and texture in soup.

ha...lol. People do love their sugared veggies on thanksgiving...too funny. My daughter wanted candied carrots, but I talked her into just cooking them in ginger ale with some fresh tarragon. Slight sweetness, but not sugary. I am not a big fan of brown sugar though. Now if we poured maple on everything....
