Okay - I really have to get out of this state I'm in. I've spent the last 15 minutes hiding under my blanket. Seriously, what good does that do?

Ready - I can understand why you would be worried, but it his decision, and I wouldn't let it effect what you need to do.

Warm yes, but I do not feel safe at all. I never really feel safe, but this is one of those times that I have gotten to the point of feeling quite unsafe.

I dread "having a talk," also. It seems I rarely do anything but listen and defend.

Man it totally sucks to have to actually do work while at work! Really cuts into my couch time LOL. Just now caught up on my reading. You guys have been quite busy.
Hope your "talk" goes well Lola...those really are the worst.
Sorry you are sad about your T appointment Granite.
So nice to see you posting Wiki. Good luck on the house hunt...so stressful, yuck.
Hope MC goes well for you MKAC
Glad you didn't get hurt falling on the bus Hankster

Wish I knew what to say CE. I think it is good to go talk to T about these things and perhaps you can come to some positive resolution. One thought that I had is that maybe this is her attempt at "teaching" you to share, forgive, etc...just a thought

Lots of positive thoughts to everyone else on the couch this eve. Btw, I do love the new couch.
Thanks for this!

Final decision... I told him he should do what he needs to do ...
but...

He is not driving my car (which he wanted to do) and he is not driving my son.
I have another parent picking up and dropping off Michael.

Hey Hankster... No he has no one to blame for his knee but himself. But what I don't understand is that he chose this surgery over less aggressive solutions because he wants to be able to continue running..(He had to give up a 17 year 5 months 14 day running streak because of the pain from the knee)... and yet he is willing to risk his recovery doing something that isn't necessary.

No he isn't trying to get me to skip therapy but he doesn't consider my feelings when it comes to his decisions..choices ...etc.

Excellent. And you told him how the rest of all mankind will be paying for his stubbornness? That's okay, you don't have to, but expect a lot of telegrams...

Oops, crosspost! Then I really do hope he is gentle with it! Otherwise I can coach him in racewalking!

hey couchsituponers! <giggle> It's SNOWING here in Tucson! What? LOL I had fun today at work, fun with childlike wonder even. On my breaks I went outside and made several little snowmen and set them on top of safety cones and various other pole-thingies that block cars from driving up on the sidewalk. And I was throwing snowballs at people. Haha! Little Art was having such a time! It NEVER snows here, at least not like this. It was really coming down earlier. And it stuck on trees, and grass, and everywhere!! It's still sorta snowing a little, not much though. Might continue into the night, not sure if there will be anything left in the morning or not. But it's pretty while it lasts. (Funny that I had fun with it, normally I am not a fan of snow having grown up in Missouri.)

Hey couch peeps! Just popping in to say I'm sorry I've been MIA....as usual. Trying to keep my head above water with all the stuff going on with my mom.

Tonight, I got out of the house for a few hours which felt AWESOME. Went to the open night mic at the place where my group is now considered "regulars". I didn't perform, though, because I just haven't been able to focus on comedy....and haven't been in a funny mood.

I am working on some hospital jokes....

I'm also working on one about group T the other day....kinda sad and self-deprecating. One guy member complimented a girl member on her appearance (she's very attractive but doesn't believe it, not to dismiss it at all - She's never been abused, so she's not quite sure where it stems from...anywho)....She got very upset by it.

Another guy member said that he felt very protective of her because he's developed a bond with her. He told the guy who complimented her that he was uncomfortable with his comment - and that he'd feel the same way had it been his wife that he said that to. He wondered why he felt that way and wondered maybe if he said it to someone else, he'd have a different reaction.

Complete silence.

I was the only other female in the room.

Go figure.

I've always felt repulsive...and have never been physically attractive...but wow, that was telling. The only other time complete silence feels that bad is when you're doing stand-up comedy...or being vulnerable in sharing something very personal and painful.....

Now I just need to figure out how to turn that into a joke....
