He as out of town for the day b/c he was asked to lead worship at a church a couple of hours away from here. I know that he is tired. However, we just had a good convo about MC so that was nice.

Healed I'm glad you are able to communicate...

my H and I had a good conversation. He apologized for being selfish yesterday and for not being there for me when I needed him. He even said "i know its hard for you to ask for help".... which means he's finally understanding me ...

but of course if he knew it then why did he choose to ignore my request
But he did apologize and said he knew he was wrong right after the words were out of his mouth (though it took 12 hours for him to apologize and talk to me about it)

Anyway... its a work in progress

Thanks for asking! Yes, I did! We had friends over, and I think I gained 5 lbs. from all the CAKE and junk I ate all week-end! Both of my 3 year old grandsons wished me "Happy Birthday, grandma" on the phone and I could understand them both! I got nice cards, emails, and poems from everyone else, and a friend in another state called me! My H put one of my paintings on the wall like I asked him to. Yes, it was one of my better birthdays!

Oh LC and CE. You make me laugh. I am merely middle aged and rather non-descript. I look like any number of any short, butchish middle aged lesbians.
Thanks for this!

I need wikid - I just made the most delicious banana barley baked pudding. Granted it is not vegan because I used eggs - but I got the eggs from my neighbor who has chickens running around her back yard so I know they are mostly cage free. At night they do get put in the coop so owls and hawks don't eat them.

Sometimes I just cook barley with a smaller bit of water first then after it is a little soft -15 minutes or so, I add milk and apples and walnuts and cinnamon/nutmeg. That is tasty.

Tonight I had a lot of overripe bananas so it was 1/2 c (cooked first in 1 1/4 c water) barley, 2C milk then added to the barley and cooked longer until barley was softer (I used a mix of kefir, cream and milk because it is what I had on hand). In another pan I mixed 4 overripe bananas, 1/4 c brown sugar (the bananas were quite sweet), vanilla, cinnamon, a little clove and nutmeg, 2 eggs and another cup of the milk mixture (cream would have been perfect if you use dairy). Then mix the barley mix into the spice egg mix and put it in custard cups, add water to the pan holding the custard cups and bake at 350 F for 40 minutes or so.
Thanks for this!

That sounds wonderful! I would so eat that for breakfast. Do you use dehulled barley or pearl barley? (Dehulled is what I have on hand).

I used pearled. I imagine the only difference in the dehulled for this purpose is you might need more water and time for it to become chewy.

Granite - I would so not listen to any md lecturing me.
Thanks for this!

Morning all.

This daylight savings is really throwing me off, but I, thankfully, don't have anywhere to be today.
