It's not too bad - it's in the 40s and forecasted to go into the 50s, near 60 the next couple of days.

The maintenance guy was here and they can't fix it till tomorrow. He's bringing space heaters, but I think I'm going to decamp to my friend's place soon.

Of course, this would happen when I'm scheduled for a medical procedure tomorrow and all I'll want to do after is come home and sleep. Grrr.

Time for me to head to my mom's and pretend to be Irish. She is making corned beef and cabbage today. I do not want to know what is in corned beef. Where's Wiki to talk about the nutrition of this?

I have corned my own beef before. The only thing in it that would be off (assuming you are willing to consume beef brisket and salt) is that to keep the color pink you add pink curing salt (nitrite - and just a tiny amount). And some recipes don't call for that but then the beef turns grey. Otherwise it is basically pickling spices and kosher salt.

That's what cozy blankets and quilts are for. Hope your procedure goes okay.

We sat outside yesterday afternoon with a friend, drinking beer, and then went to a local bar for dinner and I had a hot dog; think I have to get my eating/drinking ready for the warmer weather when all the temptations for "easy street" will hit me. Bring on the veggies and dip and flavored water between each beer to keep from drinking too much!

Back from church, and In-laws treated me and the kiddos to lunch at Cracker Barrel. Now, I am gonna attempt naptime, and then start cleaning.
