When I saw T on Monday, he was getting on my case about something he wants me to do (he wants me to tell my father that I can't be his estate executor). I'm not ready to say that to my father yet, which I told T. He kept after me on it and finally said that he's like a consultant and if I'm not going to take the consultant's advice, why would I continue to pay? It sounded a lot like he was stipulating a criterion for continuing to see him. I asked him about it and he said no, there were no conditions for seeing him and he told me again that the only thing that might cause him to terminate is if I physically attacked him and even then, he'd work to figure out why.

I still feel like I need to do what he wants me to do for him to respect me. I suspect this is connected to needing his approval. I'm going to have to talk to him about it, aren't I?

I was tested for allergies a while back and they did all these little rows of sticking stuff in me. I ended up being allergic to almost everything except foods. But I have cats and was not going to get rid of the cats so I just sniffle all the time.

Just thought I'd jump on the couch quickly to see how things are going with everyone! Looks like I've got a lot to catch up on! Hope everyone's having a good day!

ETA: Ack! What happened to Apteryx!? I just went to respond to an old(ish) PM and see she's no longer here... hope everything's alright!

I saw this quote today, and it really spoke to me, and why I had to get out of some past relationships:

“Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don’t mean to do harm, but the harm (that they cause) does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves”. ~ T.S. Eliot

So, out of 16 trees I was tested for I test postive to ALL of them. I tested postive to the 6/10 grass/pollen, 1 mold, All dust mites, Cockroaches, rabbit, cats and dogs.. I guess now I know why I am so miserable spring thru fall.

This appointment set me of though.. I was fine during the appointment but afterwards I have been feeling.. shame, yucky! First the testing is done on the back.. felt exposed, somebody had to touch my back, two doctors had to look at the back. Then, I had to do 6 intradermals.. Specifically, on the left upper arm.. Where the worse of my SI scars are, some of them are from as recently as two weeks ago. At the start of the intradermal tests I caught one of the drs staring at my arm, no doubt looking at the scars. It just made me feel yucky!

Hey all, how's it going?

I think I may have really screwed up. I terminated with T today. I just don't feel we click but I need a T to keep seing Pdoc and it takes me a really long time to trust (GAH! I hate that word) someone.

Healed, I'm sorry it was so tough. It sounds like/I hope they were at least respectful.

Allergies are the pits because you just can't escape. Have you ever tried a neti pot? I use them for allergies in the spring. Good for colds too.

I've gotten allergy shots for years, but I still take Allegra, and I still have symptoms all year round! Yucky! I cleaned something in my basement last night--lots of dust, and itched so bad it was hard to go to sleep. I took my Allegra and also put on a lot of anti-itch cream. I get sniffles too, but shots and Allegra help for that.

Anti-histamines do help for dog and cat allergies. The shots don't work too well for those allergies, my allergiest said. I had a "cold" all the years we had a cat and didn't know I was allergic! I developed asthma when I was pregnant, so had to give our cat away.

I ended up being most allergic to mold, dust, cows, and a couple of very common trees here in moldy swampland. Cows are the one thing I can avoid by staying in my dusty cat ridden house. I took shots for about a year but never really noticed them doing anything. This was over 25 years ago - they may have gotten better at it by now.

Kids are in bed, the kitchen is shut - I am not feeding anyone else, it is time to sit quietly and watch mindless tv - lovely!

Well, after striking out twice and having a good cry, I finally have an appointment with a registered dietitian. Damn expensive, but we will see how it goes.

Sorry it makes you anxious SD, and I mean that, no irony at all. To me, it is a painless way to be non-conformist when I feel the need to modify my behavior in everyday circumstances. Sounds like a good topic for therapy,( mine, not yours).

No, it is totally my deal. The good part is I know it is funny and so totally having nothing to do with me in any part of it. The bad part is that it is that I do feel anxious. Do you remember the part of Mutiny on the Bounty or Billy Budd (the books - I never saw the movie or opera) where the guy is anxious over his friend's impending flogging? It is sort of like that in a way (an over the top example I know)
