Lola - sorry your w isn't more supportive of the job thing. You do deserve to be happy in everything including your job. healed i hope you feel better soon! strep sucks. one of my friends at work has had it twice in the last month or so and now it has mutated into some mysterious virus and he's out of work again. He's apparently become immune to antibiotics. mcac sending good thoughts for you and daughter. critter is there at least anything interesting to look at during the long drive to do the presentation? That's about all my feeble brain can remember for now. i am determined to get caught up this weekend. doing a pile of laundry and working on 2 baby afghans for friends at work so I am not leaving the house this weekend LOL I'll be back in a little bit when I take another break to catch up some more! thanks for the support about my h lastnight being so "i don't care" about my poem. I'm learning how to FEEL my feelings now and part of that work is sharing those feelings with others instead of fighting them and internalizing them into tears. that's what makes PC so great IMHO. back later!

It's been a long day. I went to son's track meet to see his event and then to work for 6 hrs unpaid ot. Now I'm getting ready to leave office and go home but not really looking forward to it because I have a week's worth of laundry piled up, grocery shopping to do, bathrooms and kitchen to clean and I still have 3 tax returns to do for other people and then my own (which I'm sure I will put on extension)...

The worse part is that I am so not in a good place... I just want to sleep. Sleep takes all the bad thoughts away... and to top it all off..my sister wants to talk today. Apparently her T thought it would be good for her to compare memories with me about our abusive childhood (the one I don't remember much of and what I do remember isn't good)... I'm glad her T thinks it will be good for her but what about me?

and I'm so lonely...

RTS - I don't know if your sister is in the same town as you are, but the first therapist I saw thought it might be useful if my sibling and I saw her together a couple of times to talk about childhood. I never did it, but the therapist gave some reasons about how she thought it could help us both and be useful to do it there rather than alone.

Wish when people tell a joke they check with you first to make sure you won't be offended. Or am I being too sensitive?

How would they check first? Was it just with you or with a group of others?

It was a Nazi joke, and I know Jews are a minority minority in this country. But I feel people should check before telling jokes about Nazi's. rascist jokes arealso off the cards as far as I'm concerned. I think its because I live in a hick town. i can see where the humour came from intellectually but when family members suffered in the thing i didn't appreciate

SD you make the most interesting polls. Why the rash of polls? Curious?

I am not sure not liking a joke is being too sensitive, but I am also not certain how realistic it is to expect others to check before telling such a joke. If someone is going to tell a racist/sexist/anti-semetic joke, I am not certain how much they are going to care what their audience thinks.

I am curious and polls seemed a good tool.

You're right there, maybe i should I just avoid these people. The joke was exactly anti-Semetic, just offensive. I think I know too much. and overtink things.

I grew up in the South and live in the South(US). There are many white people who assume everyone is as racist as they are. I try to avoid them. Sometimes it is hard as this also involves most of my family.

My neighbor is having someone build something in his yard (that of course will block our view backing out of the driveway). So I walked over to see what he was building and because I rarely have an opportunity to speak to this neighbor and was hoping to get a name of an electrician and roofer... So as I was walking down my driveway to where the neighbor was I had to pass the "builder" and he said "Hi Honey"... and I wanted to just deck him one. I am not his "honey" and I find it demeaning and insulting when men call women they don't even know that.

It pisses me off too. I often say "Hey big boy" or "hey sugar" "darling" back to them in a sarcastic tone. They usually get the message.

OK, two of my favorites. Neil and the Boss with Nils Lofgren on accordion.

His prom is Saturday night. Its just that my son runs track so he's not done practice till 6pm and most florist close early. So I"ll just have to " take him out of school" one afternoon before practice to order them and then bring him back
