Around my area 4-6% is the real estate commission norm.

Hi all. Last couple of days I've felt reasonably normal, whatever that is. I can think about my T without any longing or angst or gnashing of teeth or despair at not being able to be with him. Does that mean the transference is over? Anyway, now i can think straight it's almost as if the last 6 months or so has been a dream, it doesn't feel real, like when I recover from a manic episode and i think "Did i really do/say all those things?" I feel really disorientated now. Anyway just jottting this down in case i forget it. I'll tell T on Tues.
Love to the couchies.

Hi Ready, and Sally Brown. Got tickets to see The Allman Brothers and Steve Winwood at the end of August. I'm excited. Looking forward to seeing Derek Trucks for the first time. For a long time, I refused to see them and referred to them as Allman Brothers AD(after Duane). My loss, what can I say?

I was just pretending to be a purist Ready. Duane died when I was 11, so I never heard him live. Missed a lot of good shows because of my intransigence.

to stupid to know what the word means and too lazy to look it up... intransigence.

Glad you were able to get tickets...

Sorry Ready.

in·tran·si·gent also in·tran·si·geant (n-trns-jnt, -z-)
adj.
Refusing to moderate a position, especially an extreme position; uncompromising.

I just looked up what it is here, and between 2% and 4% is the norm when selling log home in Nordic wilderness.

When H and I bought the place we live now, we used the same realtor that had this house listed to sell our old flat. I think that's reasonably common, if you are selling a house in the same area where you're buying. So realtors often deal with the same people as buyers and as sellers, I think, which ought to be an incentive for them to stay ethical. It is a deeply crooked business, though.
Thanks for this!

Serious Wiki brain fart...it is 7-8%, I was doubling it for two agents...I don't know why. Just a stupid moment I guess. We generally use the same agent to buy and sell here, it just isn't such a great practice for the agent to represent both sides on the same house. But it's legal in a lot of states.

We have a friend doing a gig at a Farmer's Market today, so we'll be heading there this morning. Tomorrow I have a baby shower to go to for Avery, my itty-bitty preemie niece. (of course the baby won't be there, as she's in a neonatal unit in Providence). Hoping my daughter gets home so she can come with me, I am bringing my mother, but my CT sister is taking her home with her for 2 weeks...woot!

Hey Ike...I just looked over this year's fair entertainment...I'll be seeing The Spinners, Tommy James and the Shondells, and Steve Augeri at our county fair. At our other "local" summer venue I have tix to The Doobie Brothers, Lily Tomlin, and Steve Miller Band. Working on Melissa Etheridge Tix. Chicago played there last week, but they sold out too fast. I honestly cannot believe the cost of seeing "has beens" this year.

A beautiful Saturday morning and I have a large family party to hold with too many people and I'm not remotely in the mood. An hour more and then it's clean, cook, play nice with husband's ex-, etc. until 10:00+ this evening.

Hi guys.. been bumming around the last couple of days. H has been off of work since Thursday. He doesn't like to sit around and do nothing, so he is currently outside washing my van- full service too. Vaccum, wipe down the dashboards, etc. Looking forward to getting into this afternoon.

Meanwhile- I am sitting in a livingroom that hasn't been picked up in a couple of days, I suppose I should do something about that. We are heading out to my nephew's birthday party this afternoon.
