Its nearly 4 pm here and my ex and the girls aren't back yet, he's not answering his phone. I'm panicking and don't know who to call. Its only a 4 hour drive they said they were going to leave at 10 am.

That beeyotch is always trying to show me up! I consider her my main competitor - in my dreams!! Where's my kickboard? Who's got the bananas (to keep my potassium up) and the Crisco (so I glide)?

Thanks Hank You're probably right but he did say he would call when they were leaving. I don't live with or love him anymore but I still don't want him to leave me. I don't understand that.

Send them my way; my husband and I go Friday to get our annual eye exam, I'll have them adjusted for you. I don't know that my eyes have changed that much and I hate paying so freaking much for a pair of glasses but these may/may not be giving me headaches; when I wear them all day, as headbands when I'm not reading something, they sometimes seem too tight and I do get that indentation in front of my ear.

Good Morning everyone, Happy Labor Day to the US/CA peeps. Stormy here, may get a break for a few hours and then back to storm. Figures, family leaves today and the rain will play right into that depression. Anyone have any plans?

It's dreary here too Lola. Poured all night and now just blah.
I'm planning to do some unpacking, laundry, cooking and maybe even put my bed together today so that I am no longer sleeping on the floor.....but I am just as likely to sit on my fat *** and do nothing as I feel like crying for no reason....maybe it is the weather.

Sorry about your dreary storminess, Lola and murray, we have clearish skies and bright sun here in Maryland. I wish there would be mail today but at least we got trash pickup as usual. I'm just sitting and reading my books, waiting for my course to start in a couple weeks. I have been too lazy to make dinner the last couple nights but think I'm stuck with making meatloaf tonight (instead of something outside on the grill) but if our friend comes over we could go out for some crabs, we owe him crabs for caring for our cats while we were on vacation the beginning of August.

The maid comes tomorrow so I have to get the slobbishness under control so it just looks normal. I still haven't completely unloaded the car from our vacation!

I think one says crab for dinner, otherwise it sounds like you intend to retaliate! or is that local talk?

Hey couch peeps....It's pouring rain here too. Just heard a huge clash of thunder that rippled through the house. Awesome. I hate when it rains so hard because we tend to flood and that is not good. My daughter's brand new bike is sitting outside in the rain too. Lovely.

We were going to go to the swim club - but obviously that's not happening. Kinda sad about that because it's the last day of the season and we usually have a lot of festivities going on for Labor Day at the swim club. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll postpone the end of season til next weekend. That all depends on if they can get lifeguards and workers who are back in school by then.

So....my daughter is spending her day doing her summer reading before school starts tomorrow. I am going through piles and piles and piles of clothes. Can't wait to make some progress on it.

Fast reader? We didn't have summer reading back when I was in school; I would have liked that. In So. Cal. though (7-10th grades) we had summer school and everyone went in the mornings then to the beach in the afternoons; that was pretty awesome; I got rid of "pre" courses that I had been put into because of reading when taking standardized tests where they never explained what the standardized tests were for and I'd just answer arbitrarily so I could get back to my book (to test your "grade level" Oops!) Why are we not very bright as kids?

I always laugh when I hear about summer reading that kids have to do now. When I was in school my dad would assign summer reading to me. I spent summers with my mom and he said that being around my mom would cause my brain to atrophy and so it was necessary to give me lots of work to do during my time with her.....good times :P
The funny thing is, I would have spent my entire summer reading regardless because that was my favorite thing to do. My mom would require me to spend at least an hour outside at the pool each day because she wanted me to be social and I would sneak a book with me.
