Hi Everyone...

On Thursday, I was on my hands and knees doing some cleaning and when I stood up... I knew something not good happened to me left knee... But it wasn't too painful so I went about my day and I walked the 2 or 3 miles with my son trick or treating... by the end of the night it was hurting... Friday was not too bad because I was mostly sitting while "working"... Yesterday was my son's last official XC meet so I was walking alot to see and then we went to this cross country team party where I did alot of standing... when we went to leave we had to walk down hill down the drive way and it was excruitiatingly painful and I was actually afraid I might fall but I made it down the road to my car... although I haven't been up moving around much today, its still painful...

I was hoping it would just go away. I do not like doctors or any of that process... how long does it usually take knee pain to go away if its just a strain or pulled muscle..

It took a couple of weeks for mine to feel better, but it was the meniscus for me. Ice, elevation, compression and rest. Also anti-inflammatory stuff if your tummy can handle them.

What is everyone's plans for the day?

I have to go pick up my younger son from a sleepover party. Then I thought I might spend some time writing in my journal. I haven't journaled since I figured out that my "falling asleep" that I thought I was doing in the middle of journaling has really been dissociating. It makes me feel a little weird that I don't know how much time has gone by or what I'm doing... But YT really would like me to start journaling again so we developed a plan where I set an alarm for however much time I want like 15 minutes and then again for 15 minutes so that I know no matter what happens that I won't be "not there" for longer than 15 minutes... We are assuming that works because its usually noise from someone coming in the room or calling my name that brings me back in the past...

Of course YT didn't see the need for the plan... he keeps telling me that there is nothing wrong with dissociating .... and I keep reminding him I am a parent with responsibilities....

I am going to buy wire with a smaller gauge and finding a live trap. sigh. I was thinking of trying to draw for a while. I only draw rarely these days. My T has seen my artwork and was really impressed and has reminded me several times that drawing would be good for me emotionally.

Well, it's 5pm here.
I am teaching my 9 year old to cook. So he helped me make Mexican Lasagna.
It's a vegetarian lasagne. Instead of layering mince beef with white sauce and pasta sheets, you layer a tomato sauce with a mix of beans, sweetcorn and cheese, and tortillas.
It's my all time favourite dish

but apart from that we have just been relaxing

i hope everyone else is having a nice day!

Sorry about your knee pain, RTS. That sounds awful. I hope you're able to figure out how to get some relief.

Some family that's staying at my moms (an aunt and her daughter, another aunt and her husband) are taking my mom and I out for a birthday lunch. I thought that was super sweet of them. I need to get caught up on cleaning and especially laundry. I also have to start a to-do list - ya know, like finish my taxes from last year, get my car registration from last year renewed, pay my car insurance, get new health insurance, etc. Important stuff that can't sit on the backburner anymore.

MUE...I'm glad you made it to the reception sorry about the ceremony... was that I95 S in Delaware? I got hung up in that mess trying to get to my son's XC meet...I had to go all around the country side to get there... I went the wrong way twice and had to turn around.. I should have been there 1/2 hour early and I just made it with 5 minutes to spare.
Thanks for this!

Of course It's a Nigella recipe, i love her food!
Here is the link:

MEXICAN LASAGNE | Recipes | Nigella Lawson

It is sooo lovely! Although a BIG word of warning, unless you like very hot (spicy) food, only put in 1 green chilli without the seeds. The recipe calls for 2 green chillis chopped, with the seeds included.
The first time i made it, i followed the recipe and added 2....OMG, i nearly blew my mouth off! It was waaaay too hot for me!

Even when i was really ill with my ED, it was the 1 meal that i would eat. Strange really, as it has cheese in it, and i wouldnt eat cheese (or tortillas, or sweetcorn) back then, but i would always eat this

If you want something nice to serve as a side dish, i recommend Avacado salsa.

1 avacado, chopped
1 spring onion, chopped
A few tbsp of lime juice
some dried (or fresh) coriander.
mix all together and voila!

I feel your pain, LOL! I am a control freak in the kitchen, so i have to be in the same frame of mind too...and today i was. I just had to stop myself from continuously taking over!
My son has Dyspraxia too, so is very clumsy and makes more mess than i ever thought possible!

Thanks, RTS. Yes, it was I-95S in Delaware. What a nightmare! Glad you made it there in time! It must have been just as stressful for you!

Thanks for the recipe, HealingTimes! Sounds awesome. I am definitely going to make it. The salsa sounds awesome too! I make fresh homemade salsa quite regularly, but now that tomatoes aren't going to be in season, this sounds like a great alternative. Thanks!

Yes, I use tax software. My taxes are done, I just need to save the file onto a flash drive and bring it to kinkos to print. Then mail. That simple. I have no idea what's stopping me - other than the dread of having one more thing to do. I am getting money back, so I really should be all on it. *sigh*

I am hoping for an easier work week this week, so I'm going to concentrate on pushing through some of these things.

Ok...so Day 3 of Juice Fast and THEY SERVE COMMUNION at church.
I was eyeballing those matzos like no tomorrow, and the wine looked fine.
BUT I didn't. Holy crap was I tempted to. I wanted to slobber down the whole plateful. All of it. Then lick the crumbs. Then lick my fingers.
But I didn't. I thought about Ike and Lola and I stopped myself.

I came home and made myself some yummy juice. Yummy yummy. Just as yummy as matzos and wine. Yep.

Now I want to go for a swim, but I want to sleep. I'll feel better if I swim though.

Oh..Lola, Watermelon Grape & Red Pepper is amazing. I would never have pared red pepper with watermelon, but it's fantastic. Just saying. For a sweet red juice.

wikid - forgive me if this is an inappropriate topic, but as always I'm curious: does your church not usually serve communion on Sundays? The Church of Sweden (Lutheran) celebrates mass with communion every Sunday; a Sunday service ritual without communion exists as well, but I don't think it's used very often. Also, are matzos a special form of communion wafer?
Again, apologies if my curiosity is inappropriate.
