Feeling really unsettled after my last appointment with T.. I know it has a lot to do with the whole scheduling difficulties as of late. I am sure though, the topic we talked about has some to do with my unsettled feeling. Sometimes I want to spend a whole other 40mins or an hour talking with T about the previous appointment. This is why I liked two a week appointments, because I could do that, usually while still feeling those feelings and not having to recall what it felt like.

I haven't read back yet. I hope everyone is well.

For as much "better" as I am compared to the past, I admit I have my bad days. Yesterday and today are two of them. I was up all night before last. I felt fine. Then by about 10 am yesterday, I suddenly felt as if I were drugged. I remember having a conversation with H about being in respiratory depression and finding it hard to breathe. I told him I had been drugged. I fell asleep and had severe lucid dreams about a bioterrorist attack on the USA where anthrax spores fell like snow. When I woke up, I was extremely dizzy and felt as if my neck was in a vice grip. It took me 2 hours to get ready to go to the chiropractor and pharmacy.

Lesson: take your damn meds. I've been off BC for 3 weeks and have had a horrible menses. I didn't take my Zoloft for 3 days. I hadn't taken Zyrtec-D for 2 days. My chiro told me I was dizzy bc I quit taking Zoloft cold turkey (tho my neck was in rough shape). I got my Zoloft and Zyrtec-D last night and seeing my GP today. I hope he'll write me a script for BC. I still feel hella weird. I slept 12 hrs last night. My neck is killing me. I don't want to take Vicodin for fear of feeling weirder than I already do.

The evidence I'm better than I used to be: telling myself this is not reality and I will feel better once I get my meds back into my system. In the past, I would accept this reality and spiral downward into an episode of pure-tee crazy.

This still isn't fun, tho.

You know, I think it just happens naturally.. I reserve and I am sure T does as well twice a week sessions for when I am in crisis and when I feel and T feels I need to check in more than once a week. Although, I doubt he would object to me requesting twice a week sessions if he could find the time. I might, after basketball season work on getting back in there twice a week. I really feel like I process things a lot better that way.

roasting some veggies in the oven for soup tomorrow...smells good.

I am trying to eat a pound of fresh leafy greens and a pound of cooked greens (beans, peas whatever)....that's a LOT of greens! sheesh. I can't eat all of that. It's easier to juice it or puree it.
(I know, I know...what the heck kind of diet is wiki on now?)

Still snowing. Still very very cold.

Wiki, is D's exam in 2 parts? I remember i went to one place for my "written" ie computer test and another day and place for the "practical" and i had to bring my own test dummy (friend) in with red polish on one nail. Part of the test was removing the red polish! I went in with a giganto cart and was the slowest person. This other woman came in with a tiny makeup kit and finished first of all of us!

Eta: i just broke a tooth - i might be ready for a soup and smoothie diet.

Thank God my GP wrote a script for BC!! Now that I'm out of the house, I feel a lot better. Sitting at the chiro now. Can tell him that GP increased script for muscle relaxers. Better than getting hooked on pain meds.

I have to run to the store to get some supplies for the storm and prep for a possible long term power failure. Common thing here on the Cape, but we don't have a generator.
How do you prepare for a power outage? I'm trying to understand it, because where I live no electricity means no heat, because the furnace is natural gas but needs electricity to run the blower. I'll be thinking of you, and counting my blessings. OMG, I just realized I wouldn't have a way to cook, either, because my stove is electric. I used to be more able to "make do" when necessary, but with the MS, I'm just a techno-dependent wuss.

Glad you're feeling a bit better. I get a lot of muscle soreness and sometimes spasms from MS, plus I have fibromyalgia and arthritis. I've found that turmeric and magnesium are very helpful. I buy the turmeric capsules at WalMart, 90 caps of 500mg each for around $7. Magnesium and postassium both help with muscle and nerve function. I don't like using pain meds, either, and avoid them whenever possible. Hope the chiro helps. Gentle hugs.

Um...yea. It's basically no heat. The stove works because it's gas, so we use it to heat the kitchen. Cold showers too.

We prep by having lots of kerosene, lots of batteries, lots of blankets, do all of the laundry, make sure there is plenty of bottled water, candles, lighters, cash (atms won't work, banks are closed), fill vehicles with gas, fill rx's, portable pet supplies, dried goods/easy to prep goods, etc. We have a "hurricane kit" as do most people here.

Thanks for the recommendation! Someone had told me about magnesium before, but not turmeric. I was about to go to the store now that I'm home and realized I was missing a few ingredients for dinner. Here's what's sad...and I could go on a rant, but going to the chiro costs $55 an adjustment. Therapy costs me $60. The GP costs $30. But my meds are free. I hate insurance companies!! I could prevent and/or fix my issues other (healthier) ways, but they'd rather I pop a pill instead.

I meant to say something yesterday when you answered me. I know how to prep for a hurricane and the heat, but the cold? Eek. At least the cold showers are a little easier to bear during the blazing summer/fall, but winter? No thank you! I believe I'd rather stink!

The part of my family that moved to the northeast have a generator, but always forget how to start it when the power goes out.
I think Boston is cold in july. I hate it in winter.
