I don't understand over the top happiness/ relief/ adoration when a therapist merely acts in a humane and sane way.

Lots of us have had attachment figures or intimate partners that usually didn't act in a humane and sane way. So it can seem like something special and worthy of adoration.

It is something that baffles me even though I have heard the theory. I don't get the connection between the two in a real way. I also don't know what makes two people react differently to the same situations - siblings for example (my sibling clinging to my mother and me being mean to her).
But no wonder some of those guys can fall /become addicted (for lack of a better word) for being adored by clients if the bar is so low and the return so high.

Ah well. Just noting what I found curious.

I am trying to decide if I will actually venture into a movie theater to see the new avengers movie - if I did, it would be the first time in 4 years or so that I have actually gone into a theater to see any movie at all. It may be longer than that - the last two movies I saw in a theater were the first James Bond movie with that new guy as bond and a christopher guest movie = For Your Consideration - so it might have been longer than I think.

That's so awesome Granite! For me that would be like cooking with Ina Garten or something, I'd be fangirling and self-conscious -- but it would be so awesome! You deserve it. And she's going to think you rock. I've seen your crafts, lady.

Hard day at school today. We had a student attempt suicide last night and a whole bunch of rather distraught students today. All in a teacher's day . . .

End of year concerts start tonight. First of two for my son who is in choir. Looking forward to it. They feed us desserts and coffee during our listening pleasure. Yum.

I couldnt post yesterday cuz of some admin stuff they were doing for the anniversary meetups? Anyway, i just wanted to mention it, that i wasnt being mad or withholding or anything. It was very weird tho! Im not used to being muzzled!! Granite, im so excited for you, for the craft goddess thing. Good luck on the party - that would totally overwhelm me!

Hankster - I drive you crazy? Lovable (from a distance and in a prickly not warm and fuzzy way), go with the flow me? For what it is worth, I rarely intend to do so - I really truly am baffled about what you are getting at a lot of the time.
Perhaps I am simply too imprisoned in the literal to follow your more stream of consciousness style.

I said lovable - NOT huggable. I shall go back and clarify I meant lovable from a distance in a sort of prickly way.

Clarifying is not taking back. I do believe I am lovable. Just not huggable.

Yes - but much further apart than those cactuses are - that distance shown is nothing if not totally smothering.
And, of course, no hearts.
