I have one course left to prepare - everything, and I mean everything (like a syllabus for starters). Instead of doing that, I unpack and then organize and re-organize the apartment.
Thanks for this!

I've been working on my syllabi and lesson plans all weekend. I am officially back at work tomorrow. Students don't start for another week yet.

Just curious.
No, not in email, as a general rule. (I have done research on some aspects of language use in email so I'm sort of semi-qualified to answer this...)

Maybe it's just their writing style or somethin'.
Yes, I would guess so. Or they might have seen a prescriptive style guide of the kind where somebody's personal preference has been elevated to a rule.

Instead, once it was found it was used as evidence against various nazi officials in the trials, according to the documentary.

She was portrayed as very naive and completely unconcerned about politics, but she also warned her sister, who was in love with a Jewish man, that they could be sent to concentration camp - so she cannot have been oblivious to what was going on.

On my way to the office, for the first time in several weeks. I have printed out a reminder (in code) of this summer's most important realisation to put by my computer.

No, the actual message is

Remember that the only way you can improve the lives of others is by shutting up about your own life.

("You" in that sentence refers to me, Crocus. It is not a general statement and is not about anybody else.)

maybe google child abuse and trauma affecting the elementary school child's ability to learn. i do apologize to those who have such a hard time dealing with my posts that have improper grammar or spelling. it isnt the first time people have made fun of others on this forum who are not as smart . you would think there would be more understanding

I have one (one) asset. It is my command of English. It's worth absolutely nothing compared to most other things. I have never judged or condemned or made fun of anybody else for not having the fairly useless ability to put apostrophes in the right place or other pointless things. I teach communication to non-English speakers, and my first and most important point is always this: "Don't worry about grammar, if you get it wrong nobody is going to care as long as you can communicate."

That being said, I do allow myself the right to poke fun at myself in the way I did in the post I removed. I was ridiculing myself for thinking that grammar matters. It matters to me, but that is a very different thing from judging anybody else on their grammar abilities. I have never done that. NEVER. (I don't judge the students whose texts I read - I sometimes have to correct their grammar mistakes because that is, sometimes, my job but that's different.)

I have punished myself thoroughly and will stay away from here for a while. Please don't hate me - you can't hate me more than I hate myself, but still.

My mom is a *****. A ****ing *****. I'm worried she's going to
Possible trigger:
I'm worried for my dad especially. There is so much going on with stuff from my past all colliding. Stuff in the future that is going to be incredibly hard. Stuff in my present I can't calm down. I've never had to take my PRN at work before. I'm so not okay. T isn't for a few more hours and I need it to be now. I wish I could leave work, shouldn't for a few hours because of the PRN. I have to stop spinning.
Possible trigger:

I don't think anyone here was making fun of anyone else here punctuation-/grammar-wise, and no one should feel unwelcome here or like they have to absent themselves. The post that started the grammatical discussion was about therapists in a professional setting, not about internet posters writing in a highly informal setting.

Ellahmae, I hope you're going to mention all that to your therapist...
Thanks for this!

It has been raining here so hard and so much - that there is flash flooding going on everywhere. The dogs are cranky and my cat is crazy. And my car is in the shop -so we are all trapped in together.
