OK--Couch members. I have a random question and don't know where else to ask. We're moving to Europe from the US for three months, and I am wondering if it possible to get US television in Europe through Hulu, Netflix, or any other means. I know this is a silly question, but it's weighing heavily on my mind as there are a few shows I'm slightly addicted to.

Most US programs are available online or through Netflix. Sometimes there can be a bit of a delay - for instance Sons of Anarchy was about 7 months behind the US for a while, but its easy enough to get access to US Netflix (UK Netflix has different availability). You can get pretty much every American channel someway or another - you just might need to hunt around a bit. Things like the US news channels are readily available through Sky if you're willing to pay a subscription. I often watch Fox news for a laugh

I understand that you don't want to be too specific, but it will depend entirely on which country you are moving to. We get a lot (a LOT) of US television in Sweden, through the regular channels as well as Netflix. But the content of Netflix varies, and we don't get all the same shows as they do in for instance the UK (and vice versa).

so the doc was not happy with my sons progress with his knee in order to get it ready for surgery. he says he should be able to bend it more than he is able to .this is a problem . he set his surgery for sept 13th but if he is still unable to bend it he wont do the surgery until he has full motion

Thank you! That is helpful. I am trying so hard to anticipate what it will be like there, but it's so out of my control. It's ramping up my anxiety to an unbearable level. We're moving to farthest West part of Continental Europe's Iberian pennisula. I so admire people who are able to regularly move internationally and build lives. This is a small move for a short time, but doing everything to get my family (husband and kids) ready feels overwhelming to me. Thank you again.

I'm sorry to hear this. It seems if he's lost range of motion in the joint, surgery would be required to bring it back?
Thanks for this!

you would think so but i guess if he cant bend his knee fully before surgery then there is a greater chance of it locking up after surgery .so they are working with a PT to get it moving he has until sept 7th to get it to bend beyond 90 degrees . he has not been doing the exercises they have given him very much so now i guess he will do them more now .he thought he was doing well

I'm sorry Granite. PT is hard to do, especially when you're in pain. I hope he's able to make the necessary progress to get his surgery.

Latest on my dad: He's been doing better. They have plans to do a procedure tomorrow that I doubt I could adequately explain, but basically it involves mapping the electrical activity in the heart and zapping the areas that aren't working right (terrible explanation I realize). It is an option other than a pace-maker. So, that's the plan I think. However, I just tried to call Dad, and my sister answered. He had just gotten up to go to the restroom, and all of the sudden everyone came running because the monitors showed his heart rate had gone up to 177. They gave him a med to bring it down, and that's kind of how our call ended. So . . . not sure where that leaves things at this point. Mom had gone home for the evening, but I suspect her plans of a restful evening away from the hospital just ended.

I may be behind the times here but last night I saw shorts for Code Black, touting it as the new ER. I can't imagine anything as good as ER. Have you seen it? Is it as good?
Thanks for this!

I'm with you.. Nothing will live up to ER. I tried watching once, but I just couldn't! Hated it.

I still remember a couple of scenes from ER with startling clarity because they were so good--one, even with the music (when Dr. Carter was attacked). Wish that would come to Netflix!

No way is it as good as ER. There are 3 or 4 new dr shows, theyre all kinda dumb. And interchangeable. Some of the shows, i honestly cannot tell the drs apart. Dark short hair, kinda cute, not tall, not short - is that the rich one, the poor one, or the sibling? I have no idea!

Eta - night shift isnt baaaaad. Bones' brotherinlaw is on it, i cant remember the fbi guys name! Bones, brennan, ?

I bought all of that seasons on Amazon.. So I have it on my Amazon library, I have watched all of them 2 or 3 times in the last couple of years.

I was wondering if it was gonna end up pacemaker. One of my beauty shop clients got one, she came back all perky.

Hi couchies!! So I forgot to put bird seed out last night, and when I put it out this evening, not even 10 minutes later I looked out the back window and there were 21 birds enjoying it! I wonder where they eat when I forget to feed them? lol

Evening, couch.

I am still up. I cleaned half my room this afternoon. I still need to clean the other half. I still need to clean out my car as well. I pick C up at his dad's tomorrow because he spends Wednesday nights there. I don't pick him up until 9. When he is at mom's I start at 8. So it will be one less hour to have fun with C. Oh well. We will make the best of it. It will be the last time I see him for a while, probably until the first no school day (if his mom still has to work).

I am relaxing now. Trying to get tired enough to go to bed. Though I don't have to be up as early as I did the first part of this week. Have to be up early Friday though to work at the other CVS store all day. Have to be there at 8. Oh well...good practice for school going back in session.
Thanks for this!
