I am so impressed with my son changing his brakes/rotors on his truck today, so I took him out to dinner to celebrate his success, I still had a gift card to one of his favorite restaurants so that's where we went. And we had such absolutely excellent service, that I just called the restaurant and talked to the manager to let her know what a fabulous server we had. I was thinking what a thankless job being a server at a restaurant must be sometimes, when customers get rude and stuff. I'm usually too shy to do stuff like that but y'know it felt really good to tell the manager that we had such good service. Hopefully I helped balance out any complaints they might get today. Now it's time to finish my laundry!
Thanks for this!

I drank like 5 glasses of iced tea with dinner so I am going to be awake half the night lol I think I'll do some cooking for next week. Maybe make a meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Looks like it's going to rain again.... clouds moving in just as it was getting dark.... I am totally hyper.... since I quit drinking soda a couple months ago or whenever I don't get that much caffeine anymore and I'm not used to it.

ETA: Here comes the rain!
Thanks for this!

Be glad you didn't have to bleed the brake lines. It's just messy and shoots out the bleed screw when someone is pumping the brakes. I can't tell you how often I got that stuff all over me. Burns like crazy in the eye.

Ouch. Yeah, he didn't have to do that - thankfully - we had originally planned to get it done at the place my husband always takes his car, so he knows one of the mechanics, but the day we had scheduled they were super busy and the mechanic ended up coming out and talking to my son and told him honestly that it was something he could do himself after they did the free inspection. I was floored by the guy's honesty, but I guess as busy as they were that day, they weren't too worried about losing the business that day. Besides, my h has spent a lot of money there in the past few years....

Here I am wide awake at my weekday-morning wake-up time, for some dumb reason. I didn't do any cooking last night after all, cuz I sat and talked with h instead. We had a really good conversation about our son. It was such a good conversation I was this close to telling him some stuff from therapy recently, but I didn't. I got very protective of it all of a sudden. Hmm. Wonder what that's all about.

In other random news, I started trying to draw images from my fairy tale. I'm trying to scan one now so I can share it. My printer/scanner is acting up though so I might just take a picture of it instead.

I have decided to tell t that I want to spend one session SOON looking at Jung's Red Book together (she mentioned one time that she has a copy). I want to learn how to paint my dreams somehow - and that will be good inspiration, besides I've been wanting to see it ever since I heard it existed!!

Good morning couchies and hugs to all who want them.

Sorry I'm spamming the couch. Waiting for the washer to finish, and the meatloaf to get done that's in the oven. Getting stuff done this morning early so I can go hang out with my drumming group friends this afternoon. They're having an Animist gathering honoring air this afternoon, with a social time afterwards. Not sure if I'll stay for the social time, but I suppose I should, and I kinda want to, so we'll see.

Quiet, boring kind of day. It's been raining and thundering a bit this morning. Debating on what to have for lunch.

No swimming of any kind here. Is it an olympic thing?

I've just watched a documentary about Eva Braun, with her own footage. Pretty fascinating stuff.

You can't be too careful around T Rex. He nibbles your toesies in the water. (All right, different dinosaur - it's poetic licence.)

Crocus -- not to freak you out but I had a sudden surge of affection (a bonding moment or something?) when I saw that you spelled licence with a C rather than an S at the end (and PC's giving me a spelling error for doing it now).
Thanks for this!

Not freaking out at all (I never have spell checkers on - they just annoy me, especially if they try to Americanise my spelling!)

Yes, i only watched part of it. It was interesting, they kept making bird of paradise flower shapes. Its kind of a rorschach test!

Ive been watching the hitchcock tv marathon. I swear i remember some of alfreds vignettes, like of the invisible dog and cat, and his suit of spun sugar that the horse ate. He was a nut! The show started when i was ten years old.
