But service by publication should only take a month or so once the publication has been selected, i.e., by my reckoning we should have already moved on to the next step.
Does it only have to be published once? Again - here (and each state is different) publication has to appear more than once for certain matters and then there is a time for X to respond after publication.
So, for example, publication of the opening of an estate has to be published 4 times and the creditors have 6 mos to file a claim.

Example of a service by publication rule of civil procedure:
"The notice shall be published at least once each week for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county where the civil action is commenced designated by the party requesting publication."

That sort of thing. So the next step does not take place until publication and X time to then respond.

In dream life I had roommates and one of them knocked over a candle onto a curtain

Evening, couch.

I am home and caught up on the couch. I need to clean out my car at least somewhat, but I may wait till morning for that...I can wake up early...hopefully. I have to pick C up at his Dad's and then take him to his Mom's and sit with him for the day. So, I need my front seat clear for him to sit in. Lol.

I think we will take a trip to the zoo tomorrow since I have him a long time. And of course Chick-Fil-A. Haven't seen him in a while...it will be nice to see him and have fun.

Crap...I still have to take my evening meds. At least I remembered earlier tonight than last night. I better go take the suckers.

ATAT - you might already know this stuff -so I hope I am not annoying you - and I am not trying to down play the amount of time that court stuff takes - it can be frustrating - but did you have court approval/order on 2/28 for service by publication or was that the date of the first publication? If just the court's order - then publication had to happen after that - so in time frame
2/28 court approves
3/10 publication (and then possibly more publication dates)
And 30 days to respond

It will probably take more time if just the decision to get the court's order took place on 2/28.

You're not annoying me, I appreciate the information. On 2/28 he was still looking for a source of publication (future ex not being local), so, yes, we could still be in that timeframe. Thanks, SD.

I am beat...maybe it is the Ativan that pdoc has me on at night to prevent anxiety during the next day...or it could be that I got very little sleep last night and had to deal with brat kids today...brattier than normal. Last day of school wild brats. I think I will blame the Ativan tonight as tonight is the second day I actually took me evening meds after not doing so for over a week, if not two.

Wow, $15k to a bondsman. It would not hurt my feelings to block all calls and cut off contact. I'm not able to sign on behalf of anyone, even my children. After bonding out all 3 of my exes for different things, I learned my lesson once I had my home searched and was followed everywhere I went for weeks because he didn't show for court. He left and I had no idea where he was but they didn't believe me, imagine that. I'm sorry to make it all about my story. That's just horrible to press your mom for something so steep.

Thanks for sharing your experience.. she is trying to to tell her son's girlfriend and best friends that it is her line on the *** when BIL doesn't show up for court, or get busted with drugs while he put on bail. Plus, if he stays in jail- that may be able to count as time served when he finally gets sentenced.

So, I had an interesting experience with t's wife in parking lot at kid's school today.
I was visibly upset, and ran into her while she was dropping her kids off. She inquired about what was up- and I just kind of let it all out lol. I was getting ready to walk back in to my kid's school and yell at anybody who would listen because of something that happened yesterday. She helped calm me down and help me not be so angry before I walked back into the school.

I find it ironic that it was t's wife.. I was so pissed that anybody could of asked me what is wrong and I would have let it all go. Kind of embarrassed it was t's wife.. and am afraid she told t. Session on Friday should be interesting.

Attachment can carry you over obstacles you might be able to pass otherwise.

And if there is no such newspaper? (Which might happen if consolidation brings the few remaining publishers to Capital City.)

I don't even address my GP as "doctor". (I would use her title when talking about her to someone else.)

Isn't therapy supposed to be on a first names basis? Doesn't the patient have enough problems without the therapist pulling rank?
