No one hates you, granite! Your T is retiring? When? Maybe that's why she's been pushing you lately. I am very, very sorry! I don't read this forum much but I'm sure you're misinterpreting something about people hating you!
Thanks for this!

I don't hate you. I know how painful it is to have a therapist transition away. While my T isn't retiring per se, he is changing his practice and stopping accepting new clients to retire in 1-2 more years.

Please stay safe. Please.

A friendly-enough dude, just very loud and blustery and old Boston-type.

I have had appointments with clients all week. I am not used to wearing a suit every day in the summer any more.

Looking around for more new therapists. I think I will avoid the one who says in her Psychology Today profile that she will "re-program" clients. Eep.

What in earth makes her think that is a "selling point"?

Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory does seem like my tv self:
"I don’t care for unconscious thoughts. My brain and I are best friends. It should tell me everything."

I admire Sheldon, because he is so unapologetically himself. Graceless sometimes perhaps, but he's always his imperfect real self.

Which I suppose is easy for a made-up character on a tv show!

But, I still admire that about him and he is the main reason I enjoy the show. Well, that and when usually soft-spoken Bernadette yells like Howard's mother hahaha

I am so sick of feeling my emotions so intensely. It's really unbearable at times. And I can't seem to get myself back down..

I was just talking about this with my T last session. I feel things so acutely and intensely that it's exhausting. If I figure out how to better manage I'll let you know.

((Granite))

Two things I really didn't want to learn (but are true):
1. Relationships don't last forever.
2. Relationships can be replaced.

You will find another T!

Have my first mammogram tomorrow. Freaking out a bit, not about the procedure itself, but fearful they'll find something. I was prompted to go by finding out on Facebook that someone I went to college with just got diagnosed with stage 3... (Plus I've known some other people who had it fairly young.) H was understanding about my fears, which helped. And T was really supportive about it yesterday during session. (Wish I could reach out to MC, too, but I know his wife had breast cancer like 5 years before she passed away, and although it wasn't the cause of her death, complications from the surgery contributed to her health issues. So I'm not bringing that up--well, unless it becomes something I have to bring up...)

My mom had ovarian cancer at my age (survived), and I'm going to have a sort of screening ultrasound thing for that soon, too (even though they say that there's not truly a screening test--more of a detection test, I guess.). Figure I'll make that appointment tomorrow, since it would be at same place.

I'd ask for pocket riders, though I'd appreciate if you avert your eyes while I'm topless!

Sometimes I feel like people hate me but I've found the real problem isn't that everyone else hates me, it's that I hate myself. May or may not apply to you, just my experience.

I'll be there, eyes covered when needed!

By the way, I learned these statistics when I had my questionable mammogram in January. Something like 85% of mammograms are normal, of the 15% remainder where testing is repeated, 10% or 2/3 gave abnormal results because of operator error or are something like a cyst, and of the rest, the majority of lumps found are benign.
