I thought about that, as the opposite of within, but it had too much of a bereft and lonely connotation to it. I dunno. And I do love to swim. And I'm moving on from therapy (ETA: for now, not ruling out returning someday). So it all works in the grand scheme of things.

I've been reading the IEPs of the students on my caseload tonight. I'm convinced one of two things is going on. Either my department head hates me, or he's confident in my ability to work with complex students/families.

I should have had a glass of wine while completing this endeavor.

Well since this crap concert tomorrow got its lights put out, I'm doing something different. I signed up for a group bodywork session called Radically Restorative Friday Night Bliss. Hoping it lives up to its name, which is fairly superlative. I could certainly use some radical restoration. But I've been very scared of group things ever since I began trauma work.

And one of these kids has RoboTs last name. It's not like his last name is Jones or Smith either. I can't escape him today no matter how hard I try.

I quit. I'm going to bed.

I also love the joke of whom the punchline is, "Artie chokes 3 for a dollar at Safeway" - where this guy Artie is kind of a dumb hit-man, so he agrees to off somebody for just a dollar. So he sees the person at the grocery store, so he does it, but then the cashier and the bag boy saw him, so artie kills them too. So that night the newspaper headline was:

i hate myself right now and I'm beating myself up so much, i texted my T 2x yesterday and emailed last night, and 2x today, he replied to all, but i still ugh, this is not me. i am so concerned about being too much and never do more than 1x a week for emails. i am gonna apologize to him for like 10 min on tuesday. i feel so awful.

I understand oh so well the self-hatred and beating yourself up stuff.
It's a terrible and self-perpetuating spiral. I hope you can pull yourself out of it and not feel so awful. I'm sure your t understands.
