If I posted it would be all doom and gloom, so I'm curled up quietly in the corner behind SD's wing chair.

Here's Version 1 of my "condom found on top of a car" assignment/dogging story.
That was no way to treat a valuable piece of archaeological evidence.
I couldn’t believe it. I’d left the dig and was heading for my car when I was brought up short by the sight of the expedition’s prize find, a condom dating to the early 1700s and made out of a sheath of animal intestine, probably from a cow. It was lying on top of the roof of the car next to mine.
We’d been hoping to extract some DNA evidence from it. Not much likelihood of that now, it was raining. Any samples stood a good chance of being corrupted.
I sighed. I was the assistant director on a dig near Jamestown, a much smaller community called Charlottesporte. Archaeology magazine called us “Jamestown Lite.” This would make us a laughingstock.
Unless…I took two quick steps to the car, grabbed the condom, and stuffed it in my bag.
Thanks for this!

nice, @@. i'm trying to picture what a condom from the early 1700's would even look like. i like the archaeological dig setting. what other artifacts might be found aside from the condom? hmmm....
Thanks for this!

i'm writing sort of from the sand tray i did last week. here's some so far (not that the sand tray has even come up yet haha):

"It's a rare opportunity indeed," I thought, "being able to actually set up and create my dreams. And for science, yet!" I giggled. This thought was foremost in my mind as I opened the door to the Southwest Desert Sleep Lab, where the experiments on Dream Creation and Control would be taking place. I'd gone through quite a bit of psychological testing to get to this point, and had even been able to finagle a week off of work in order to participate. As I entered the building, I felt excited and ready to see where this would go.
-----------------------

that's all I have so far besides some jotted notes. the sand tray is going to come in later when one of the experiments starts, my character will create a sand tray in a special box that has electrodes lining the box underneath the sand, connected to wires that are then attached to some futuristic kind of equipment that will carry the signals from what is created in the sand to the creator's brain as she sleeps and at the proper moment as REM sleep begins. Or something like that. I get all these crazy ideas for stories and then i can't figure out how to write the technical parts ahaha
Thanks for this!

1700s condom

As for the archaeology, probably the usual stuff mostly: household goods, tools, jewelry, toys, burial goods.
Thanks for this!

Can I call on the couch friends to help me brain storm ideas?

I need to present a 5min CREATIVE presentation about Self-Actualization... I was thinking about relating it to therapy work.. like creating a worksheet as a tool for therapy, like where is the person in the process of self actualization and where they want to be.. or writing a short story about the process of self actualization.. but the professor wants those ideas presented in a creative way and I can't figure out what to do... any ideas???

You could act the progression to self-actualization out.

That's what I was thinking. Maslow has a list of the characteristics of self-actualization, doesn't he? Act them, mime them, interpretive dance them?

If that's too creative, design a game board?
Thanks for this!

Compare it to the food pyramid, then re-do it the way they re-did the food recommendations, to my plate and a glass of milk. The difference could be like based on whether or not you have food insecurity? Eg a hurricane hits and knocks the pyramid over. Okay thats two ideas there mixed up, sorry!

Eta i would use blocks or make cardboard blocks.

H being all pissy toward me for no apparent reason since getting home from his in-law's from his birthday dinner. I mean, I hung with his family for 2.5 hours (including his mother, his father, and his stepmother--yes, they were all there. Plus his sister and brother-in-law, but they're generally OK). D started having a meltdown near the end because she was wiped out, and he got mad at me for trying to calm her down, but I was ultimately the one who got her calm enough to get her shoes and coat on...sure I used different techniques than he does (being calm and snuggling her and trying to comfort her instead of being like "Come on, we're leaving!") but, uh, mine worked.... Maybe he's mad that I didn't do the dishes today? But seriously, he's slamming stuff around... Sigh.

Plus I got all weepy listening to a song on the way home (we drove separately) and want to just ponder what came into my head, but need to just act normal...

I ended up eating the banana bread with moldy applesauce and have lived to tell the tale. It's actually pretty good this time because I used eggless eggs that gave it a little boost. Turns out, my therapist had done something like this recently and she still ate what she'd made, said she worried the whole time, but it worked out okay. I like knowing this about her.
