After all these years, I am left with no one to support me. The ex stopped alimony payments. Sorry to say this, but checking in with you once a month is no help.

I missed my grandmother, so I decided to cook the things she cooked. Now, my house smells like her house used to.

Sometimes, when I miss you, I make pancakes and coffee, because I imagine that you make really good pancakes on a Sunday morning for your family.

I'm weird.

I feel grateful to be homesick right now. Feeling homesick means I like where I am, but I miss home. I don't feel miserable anymore. I know that feeling will probably come back, but I'm trying to be "in the moment" as you would want.
But anyway, yeah, I miss home. And you are part of home.

My dearest T,

You have changed too. When I confronted you during our most recent rupture, you were not defensive. You listened. You seemed pained. It has been two sessions since then and I can see the effort you are putting forth to do things differently. Thank you.

I now feel a calmness when I am away from you which I have never felt before.

Yet, sitting in front of you triggers me and it is not just because my perpetrator was a man. I am afraid I disgust you. I am ashamed of what I look like. So much shame that it is unbearable to look you in the eye. So afraid you will see everything.
