Couch 166: The Un-hex-hexed Couch

Sunday to do list update: gathered three bags of trash to take out, did a load of laundry, updated grades in the grade book, and wrote an IEP for a meeting that I have tomorrow. I haven't had the motivation or energy to be productive in weeks, so though it's not a great list, I want to try to celebrate even little successes.

Oh geez--I see I am perilously close to 3000 posts. Does something magical and/or horrifying happen at that moment?

i was at least productive today. i forced myself to be since i slept all day yesterday and did absolutely nothing.

2,000 is title change (it’s been the high point of my life so far).

I took a shower and now im icing my knee and waiting to Call the Midwife My knee was starting to feel almost normal, then it started hurting a little more - i think cuz i didnt take any ibuprophen today, and i did exercise last night. Im trying to find that sweet spot between not under- and over-doing.

I totally relate to this. I just can't tune in to most social interactions. It's all in, or I'm checked out. I do okay at work, but the intensity lies in discussing and working out complicated work issues instead of anything personal. It's the same kind of immersion, though. My brain just runs more smoothly at high velocity. I hadn't made the connection to trauma, but that makes sense.

If there is, count me in as a Founding Member.

I feel like not only have I accomplished Bigly things this weekend but actually for the entire season (year) — I bought a wrought iron little fence and attached it (very badly — read hardly) to my patio entryway.

Surprisingly, my neighbor’s dogs — who appeared very offended at the sight of it — did not try to push past it.

I kinda wanted to tell them “Seriously, you’re going to let this badly clamped little thing deter you? Where’s your grit and determination to ease yourself on my patio?”.

But no, I mostly jumped back two feet as they barked away.

I just finished binging the new Carol Burnett show on netflix "A little help"... if you like kids, you will love it, they are so funny and cute!

It's basically a show where Carol, various celebrities and random other people ask kids for advice on issues with their lives like friendship, love etc and the kids just say whatever. I was cracking up for so much of it, highly recommend it

I feel sorta like I'm ditching class by not doing the extra credit research paper for my current psych class haha!
