Hello, everyone. I know I'm not around often anymore, but I think of you all often.

I just need a place to be sad today. Don't mind me.
I'm glad you're here, daisy.

Are you working on any cross-stitch? I've abandoned my project, but today I bought the floss I need so I can pick it up again.

Good golly.
I'm not sure whether to "Thanks!" this or hug you-did you try them?

Thanks

I ought to finish this project soon. It's supposed to be a Christmas present...

Glad that you'll be starting your project back up soon.

I used to cross stitch. I needed a hobby but my ex wouldnt let me paint or play yhe flute. His excuse was i never got any better so why dont i give up, hard to get better when you arent allowed to practice. Cross stitch wasnt for me.

It's after 4pm and I'm finally getting out of bed. Probably means I'm not going to make it in to lab today.

I’m much better than last weekend but still incredibly weak. Sitting up for 2 1/2 hours to write a lecture on structuralism wiped me out.

I haven’t been to the gym in almost two weeks because of this, meaning I’ve lost weight. I’d hoped to go today for a light workout but it’s not happening.

Its your period / perimenopause. Or low potassium. I used to walk around work whining, "Somebody carry me!" And my bosses called me unprofessional?!

You better expect to be tired for two months. I would lecture you on why your resistance was low, but i assume school was teeming with new cooties

Kitchen day for me. I started to deep clean the kitchen, looked around, and went at all of the produce on my counter. So far, I've got...

*roasted pumpkins, pureed (in the Vitamix!) and cooling to go into the freezer,
*roasted peppers and tomatillos in the freezer
*tomato-zucchini sandwich bread cooling on the counter
*and I cleaned leftovers out of the refrigerator- ready to mix up a breakfast quick bread with leftover carrots, canned pears, and oatmeal, the other half of the zucchini, and four stalks of rhubarb I got from the garden. Plus a brown banana I just found in the fruit bowl.

And the kitchen is clean, except for the floor which eldest son just said he'd mop for me when I'm done.

Here's the bit that I feel best about- Something has shifted. A year ago, two years ago, I was hanging on to these seasonal rituals around the garden and food preservation for dear life. They kept me connected to myself (if that doesn't sound too corny).

Now it's just a lovely part of the flow of the year again. Lots of things are still really hard, but not the same way. It feels good and homey.

Looking for something in my shed and found a black widow instead. It no longer lives. I wish they would stop taking up residence in there.
