I'm so sad. I miss my therapist. He's in the hospital. But he's okay, as far as I know.

Currently filing out divorce papers. We are doing uncontested divorce in or state and I have to fill out all the paperwork myself. I considered myself a semi-intelligent person. But reading all this law language is making my head spin.

I have found my perfect retirement.
This 75-year-old spends his days napping with kittens. And he's raised more than $30,000 doing it

I love getting paid to talk like that. But it can be daunting - I hope the forms get easier.

My cat peed on my laundry pile. I am hoping it’s because his box needed scooping and that it won’t be a new habit.

And the news is triggering me.

Special cleaning supplies for cat urine have enzymes that break down the proteins that make it stinky. Best course of action is to blot up as much urine as possible, then saturate the stains in something like Nature's Miracle, then launder cold. Sniff, and if it still smells like cat pee redo the process before putting it through the dryer.

(My cat has separation anxiety and pees on my clothes or bed if I'm gone too long, so I have way too much experience unfortunately)

Edit: he's cute enough to get away with it though (and he tucks himself under the blankets, I don't do it for him)

I didn't just hand over my keys. he doesn't like the way i drive so i used to just avoid hearing about it by handing him my keys in situations like this but today i said to myself no. I'm driving. when he made the inevitable comment about my driving (I was going too slow for him) I said with a smile dude, this is my car and I'll drive it any way I like. He surprised me by replying "Right on! You stood up for yourself!" We went out to breakfast then to wait for his car to be done and after we ate when the check came I got out my debit card and paid it. He said something about how "Wow, I like this new you" or something like that. that was kinda funny since the debit card is on our joint checking account haha but whatever. Something big has definitely happened inside me by speaking my truth about my sexuality to first myself last weekend and then to t a couple days ago. I feel very solid in my self if that makes sense. Actually t said I seemed that way the other day, and I realized this morning that is how I feel.
I feel those two points are important. It's lovely that H is also seeing noticing it too. I'm going to sound soppy but I do find your posts inspiring, and they make me want to stay in therapy instead of running away, which is what i'm doing now i hope that I can get to where you are on day.

In the U.K. we have something like citizens advice, perhaps there's a similar similar service that could help you?

I couldn't figure out why yesterday I was so down, but I talked to a friend about my therapy session on Friday night and it was very heavy. So that coupled with the other stuff going on in my life, the sadness made sense.

I've just woken up so it's too soon to tell how I'm feeling today. Thanks though, lemon.

Hello Couch People. I’ve spent lots of time since I joined looking at all the forums that Psych Central has to offer. I must say it’s more than I can keep up with. I should probably pick one and just stick to it. This place offers a forum for nearly everything. I like it.
I gave up coffee many years ago but I think I may take up drinking it again. I’m exhausted and need energy to start my day though it’s currently raining in my part of the world.

That makes total sense. I tend to think of that as a "therapy hangover." Hope you have a better day today.

Lovely thought for the day ~ Thank you!

Autumn is special, and is my favorite time of year too. Makes me think and feel melancholy but in a good way, if that makes sense. Looking forward to days of comfy sweaters and open windows bringing a slight crisp breeze, herbal tea with honey, leaves turning, reading, cats purring. Last night was the equinox. Went to see a favorite artist/performer and she captured these "fall" moments, reciting a Rilke poem:

The leaves are falling, falling as if from far up,
as if orchards were dying high in space.
Each leaf falls as if it were motioning "no."

And tonight the heavy earth is falling
away from all other stars in the loneliness.

We're all falling. This hand here is falling.
And look at the other one. It's in them all.

And yet there is Someone, whose hands
infinitely calm, holding up all this falling.

Rainer Maria Rilke

Thanks for this!

That is a neat poem.

October has long been my favorite month, although it's always gonna be bittersweet now as it's the month I lost my beloved pet as well

BUT

So much awesomeness in it as well. I love orange so it's a great thing for me to see it everywhere during October. I also love pumpkin and apple flavor things. I'm not a fan of halloween but I enjoy watching TV shows do their halloween episodes. Long sleeve clothes, hot drinks, blankets, snuggle time with the pups... yay!

Only thing is, where I live it's typically the only bit of fall we really get, it almost always begins to snow here in November
