Call me grumpy but I didn’t even buy any candy to give out this year. I don’t get home from work until 6:30. I want to chill when I get home-not answer the door every 5 minutes. I gave it out last year and young children were still knocking at close to 9pm. This year I’m shutting off my porch light and not answering the door.

Neither of my kids want to trapse the streets begging for sweets this year. Suits me just fine. I've promised them I'll buy some sweets and Halloween crafts and we'll do apple bobbing and carve a pumpkin. Woop!

I think the last time I trick or treated I was 8. The church at the corner of where I live is doing a trunk or treat-so I don’t feel bad for not buying candy to hand out this year. Kids will get plenty of candy there. I also don’t have kids, so Halloween doesn’t really matter for me.

I'm meeting this lady from the state today to try to get more mental health services covered because I haven't been doing great. Pocket riders?

I'm tempted to ask R if I can have a second session this week, but also tempted to just sit with my feelings and not contact at all.

Thank you everyone. Apparently they sent the autism people and not the mental health people like I thought. They asked me a bunch of developmental questions, everything from can I count to 10 to advanced stuff. They said they think I have moderate autism even though I've always been told I'm high functioning. They then recommended I call some mental health agency who will probably do yet another assessment. The whole thing seemed like a waste of time but oh well.

I just realized it's Halloween. Thank god this is not really a thing here. If anyone is at our door, I'm just not going to open and if they do something to our stairway, the janitor is hopefully gonna clean it up.

I think you are trying to push him away because the relationship with R can seem scary at times, but you also don't want to push him away because that seems scary too. It's okay to let him in a little. If you feel like you need to talk to him again this week, just ask. If I'm off base here, feel free to ignore this.

There are far too many students dressed in costumes on campus today. I currently have a caveman sitting in my office taking a makeup exam.

Oddly, he is wearing aftershave.

DEAR GOD, there's actual children in front of our house trick or treating. I will complain to every single person who lets them in. Not really, but still... this is not tradition here and it's annoying, I don't want to give free candy to kids who won't appreciate it. I remember at my parent's place kids would come by, my mom would give them homemade cookies and the kids would spit them out after half chewing them. It's obnoxious.

They're just kids having some fun dressing up and getting their sugar buzz on. It's kind of extreme to wish that kind of violence on children. I don't want trick-or-treater's either but I just don't turn on my porch light.

Not to mention that kind of sexually violent imagery might be triggering to some people around here.

I agree if it's kids. I imagine kids doing this would be kind of cute and nice, I'd probably give them something. Unfortunately, here it seems to be young teenagers trying to find an excuse to egg houses and stuff like that. That part is the one I really mind.
Thanks for this!
