I find it interesting to see who flocks to whom. I know there are certain qualities that I find I can get along with and tend to become friends with and then there are a couple of other distinct sorts of people that I absolutely cannot abide and who feel the same way about me. And then there are the sort of neutral ones.

But it is, to me, interesting to watch it play out. I watch it happen with my students and sometimes I guess right and sometimes I don't.

Robert Brewer (writer's digest) tweeted about a poetic form that's new to me, an Irish form called Treochair. Variable number of tercets, 3-7-7 for the syllables, with lots of alliteration. My first try shortly.

True and I made it worse but looking at something I shouldn't have. Idk why I do dumb stuff sometimes. I can't spiral again so I need to stay focused...

I've tried distracting myself from waiting for this phone call. It is not working. I just feel helpless just sitting here waiting. Why can't providers understand what it's like waiting for a response back? This is one of the few days where I miss working because there was distraction at work sometimes. I'm trying to get better to the point where I can be a productive member of society again by at least working part time but it's like nobody cares to help or if they do help, it's only to get me back to stable.

I have been out of town for a few days. I have one cat glommed on to my lap and two dogs right under my feet. The other cat is on the radiator. Hopefully by tonight they will be reassured I am home and move away from me - I am pet trapped.

So like this? (TW for bad poetry written in 5 minutes)

therapy
tries so to traducify
the trauma of those thirsty

for love lost
leaving the lorn ones lonely
like the Veronese star-crossed

but too late
damage is done, goes undone
isn’t fixed, will be deadweight.

And here is mine:

Stars above
satiate the silent sky
I sit apart, so it seems

from my life.
Let love that should have lasted
lapse, all those long years ago...

And today?
Today I’m trying to trust
the tenacity of Truth.

I can understand the waiting game. What time is this phone call?

I walked to the stoplight at the top of the hill and back and then did my usual morning break route, total 1.22 miles done for the day. That felt good, a great way to start the day! Now i'm watching a video of SpaceX's crew Dragon coming back home after undocking from the space station. Gotta start working in 20 minutes.
Yay!

I'm glad you got the rest you needed. 1.22 miles is a fab distance.

Hi everyone! I just spent over an hour trying to help an employee with his insurance claim. It's the one that's in collections. We have a really good broker with lots of people that work for her so I've enlisted help. She said there are still avenues we can take. That makes me feel better for this poor chap. On a side note, I see the hospital cashed my check for when I got stitches. Whew. So I don't have to worry about that. I rarely write checks so I hate waiting for them to come out of my account. But this one only took about three days. Yay! Kit

I don't know that's the thing. They are supposed to call either yesterday or today though I'm really doubting that they call today either.

I got my lab results back. They aren't great. High LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol although total cholesterol was okay and so were triglycerides, glucose is one mg/dl over the range (which can signal pre-diabetes) and quite high alkaline phosphatase which I *think* has something to do with the liver but I'm not sure. I see the doctor in 12 days so I'll see what she has to say. I think if I could lose some weight that I gained on this AP it would help. Although I don't know about the alkaline phosphatase. Maybe drink more water? That's probably good advise for me in general. I'm a little worried about the results but at least if I know what's wrong, the doctor can help me determine how to fix it, or treat it. HUGS Kit

Can you call them and tell them no one has called you as promised?

Sorry for missing out words. I'm surprised I even make sense sometimes.

Misread directions - will try again

Poems, lord
Posing, posturing, preening
Pen on paper outpoured

Not Poe much
Nor playful Punster at all
And yet the pull to try such

Couch gold stars
To casual word crafters
Covering up the old scars

So my ultrasound results were negative, which means it’s not fatty liver. Now I have a bloodwork order for a bunch of other tests. It seems to be testing for too much of some things (copper, iron, protein), hepatitis, autoimmune disorders, and a couple cancers that affect the liver, including the one that killed my father.

Oh, well, at least I don’t have to fast.
