Good for her if it meant she had a net worth of 8 billion.

H got hit by a drunk driver last night. He's okay. The car has a dent by the rear tire, but that's it. I'm not sure if he can still use it to drive Uber/Lyft which is what he was doing at the time. The cops arrested the lady. I'm hoping our insurance doesn't go up from this...it's expensive enough as is.

She got that 8 billion by marrying a rich guy and taking over his company when he got sick. Plus the illegal activities.

We were supposed to go canoeing but it’s just about to rain so I’m hoping we can pivot and do something less damp.

Went to a state park to sit by the river and get some tranquillity. There's a gazillion places to sit here. Two teenage to young adult boys have chosen the picnic table right next to mine. One walks like he's drunk, which given my history, makes me uneasy. They are talking loudly and playing music on their phones. This sucks and it seems so rude. We're not in the city where this wouldn't bother me. We're in nature where one could presumably expect a moment of peace. I was trying to read a book about trauma. Not really happening right now.

Geez, Lemon, was it really necessary to do all that? I admit I'm feeling pretty upset about the way you went about things due to my own experiences with the only two roommates I've had. They were both really passive aggressive and it honestly made me want to die at certain points because I could not escape the constant tension. I would try to make things better - olive branches like what your former roommate did with the chocolate bar - and it never made any difference. I felt so helpless and trapped.

There's being assertive and there's being aggressive or passive aggressive. I'm not saying you should have subverted your own wants or needs to "keep the peace." But there is also a difference between not feeling like you have to be nice to everyone just because and feeling like it's ok to treat someone you're living with the way that you did and make their life a living hell. If you recognize that you aren't required to be nice to anybody, you might want to take that a step farther and recognize that other people might feel the same way and not take it so personally when someone you've just met does something like she did. Yeah, it wasn't a great thing for her to do - but if she felt like she had grounds for a complaint, then by your logic, why must she be nice and hold her tongue to keep the peace? Since you didn't get kicked out or imprisoned, I assume her complaint was minor. She was in the wrong, in my opinion, to not address it with you directly, but I'm just saying you didn't have to go nuclear on her.

And my unsolicited advice is that you not use strategies like this with people because at some point, you'll mess with the wrong person and reap what you've sewn. I had and continue to have so many fantasies about ways I could take revenge on my former roommates and pay them back for just a tiny amount of the misery they caused me. They would deserve it. But I am trying to content myself knowing that the way they act will catch up with them and I don't want to risk having to pay for taking my vengeance.

I’ve been off Wellbutrin for three weeks now. Wasn’t planned—the pharmacy and I managed to mutually screw up a refill, so I went without for three days. Didn’t notice any withdrawal effects, so even after I got the refill I decided not to take it. And the fact I got through the past couple very stressful weeks at work with no mental health deterioration tells me I don’t need to go back on it. Still on the Pristiq though.

I’m very pleased—Smaug originally prescribed it, and it’s the last tangible connection I had to her.

Susannah - re lemons dilemma. This seems to me similar to the issue with np and her moms insistence on a visit. And maybe world peace?

Sometimes people wont negotiate. Then what?

The best advice ive heard recently was, "act crazier than the crazy person youre dealing with", and that was from a youtube comedian, so not exactly stellar credentials there. Like not malcolm gladwell.

This is where my avoidant dismissive fearful flatulence type comes in handy!

No not me. Im saying, the poor roman writers got so confused on their plurals when people started choosing their pronouns that they couldnt keep up the daily roman news rock engravings or whatever. And that was # the end.

I think you are referring to the acta diurna, the wooden or wax tablets posted around Rome with the latest gossip about the hot gladiators?
