My favorite are the students who write to tell me they will be missing a class and ask if they will be missing anything important.
Me: No, that was the day I had planned on just wasting your time and mine.

Had one University professor in my Anatomy & Physiology class read our textbook out loud for the entire class session. Every. Day.

I have heard tell of a couple professors at my school who do this. (Including the one who wrongly accused me of shifting the furniture in the classroom we both used so that I changed classrooms.)

ETA: Grading--I gave my medical roots students condylocele, a swelling on the knuckle. But the textbook also says condyl- is knob, so I'm getting a fair amount of "swelling knob" responses. Which, um, makes me think of another part of the anatomy altogether...

But as announced twice, once in class and once by email, technical issues need to be turned over to the exam software support people or the university IT services. Perhaps if you attended class you would have registered this information.

Although I am not omniscient, I do know some things. One, you have done none of the daily reading quizzes yet this term. Two, you have not attended class, and attendance is measured by the university's electronic polling system. Three, one of those previous assignments required students to use the same exam proctoring software you are now having trouble with, to ensure that such problems did not surface suddenly the afternoon the exam was due, such as yours. Four, you also haven't done the preliminary activities to the class, without completion of which you cannot even access the exam.

So contact UITS. Or remember that the syllabus--which you have not read or absorbed, since one of those uncompleted preliminary activities is a quiz on the syllabus--allows one exam of the four to drop. So you could concentrate your efforts on being ready for the second exam.

Of course, we both know you will not do that. You will skip the exam, not contact UITS, and continue not to complete course requirements or work out your problem with the exam software, and repeat this whole episode at exam 2 time. But let's pretend, shall we?

With best wishes for your continued avoidance of work and your efforts to manipulate or BS your professors.

Hope that helps,

Yeah, in undergrad, I had one professor who would put up transparencies (I'm old!) and just read from them the whole class. The "textbook" was just a book of those presentations that the professor self-published. I eventually realized I didn't need to attend that class except for exams. And when I did go, didn't have to take notes.

Yesterday I think I managed to irritate my therapist while apologizing for (mildly) irritating him. Sigh. I think he thought I was being defensive about the first irritation (he was supposed to email me early to arrange a call, but he didn't and I emailed him to tell him it was okay not to call me; he said he was planning on emailing me), but I wasn't.

Waiting at Ts office to go in. I slept like crap again last night, and still feel bad this morning. I'm not even sure what I want to talk about today...it feels like it doesn't matter today.

My pdoc called me this morning. The supplements he ordered for me came in. He wants to see me though, not just "throw the supplements at me" (his words). I'm going to ask him what his cash fee will be when he goes into private practice. I at least want to know if it is even an option. I'm reading reviews of some other pdocs online that are in my area and I'm worried. These are not good reviews. I know people don't usually leave good reviews, but still. HUGS Kit

So upset. Just got the bill for my last apartment. I knew they were going to want to replace the cheapo vinyl flooring. When my grandfather brought my washer and dryer, he kind of ripped up the floor putting them in. And there were a couple other small spots that were ripped just from normal pieces of furniture that didn't have any sharp edges literally just sitting there. On the damages sheet on the lease, it said "potential cost (actual cost may vary)." I took this to mean the cost might vary within the ranges they gave - because what's the point of giving ranges otherwise. But my bill charges me four times as much as the upper limit of the range for replacing the vinyl floor. I am devastated.

We only paid half i dont know what you have over there

This worker's comp audit is driving me crazy. I thought I had all the information but then I got a request for more. So I put in a request to two people to hopefully get the documents I need but I haven't heard back. At least it is something to focus on, instead of just all the crazy, downcast thoughts in my head. But I think I'll hang around the couch for a while because I'm not getting anywhere on the audit and I don't want to be alone.

I mean, they won't be upgrading anything, just putting in the same cheapo vinyl flooring again that is in all the apartments in that complex. On the bill, it says the flooring is supposed to last 72 months. There's no way that's accurate just based on the random discoloration that would happen for absolutely no reason in random spots. It lasted for 48 months. With what they're billing me, 1000 sq. ft. of this stuff apparently costs more than $2k. I don't believe that, especially since the complex has more than 300 units, they have multiple complexes in the area with the same flooring, and they will be buying in bulk. And of course, it's extremely cheap flooring that is about as sturdy as tissue paper. And their own maintenance people do the work, so it's not like they're having to hire outside contractors.

Since I'm super depressed (shocking, I know) I've been listening to a Christian Praise song on repeat today. It talks about no matter how loud the depression gets, I'll just praise louder. I'm finding this encouraging. I've also been looking up websites that I shouldn't be looking up that have to deal with Sui. I guess the two balance each other out. My former boss got here to work today and she's like, you don't feel well? I'm like, no I don't feel well. I haven't felt well all day. Maybe pdoc will help tonight.

I wish I wasn't at work. I could be at home, laying in my bed, wrapped up in a blanket, drowning out the world. But I guess the good thing about work is that I'm forced to interact. I don't see pdoc until 6:30 PM or whenever he is done with his last patient. Oh and CVS said my medication is ready for pickup. That's something. Although according to the app, they filled the 60 mg Vyvanse and the 70 mg Vyvanse. Not sure that's going to fly.

We have an appointment here shortly for a guy to come over and talk to us about medicare, h will be 65 in a few months so we need to get on figuring all of that out. i am SO not looking forward to this, all of the horror stories I hear every day at work people saying "When i signed up for this medicare plan they said my meds were covered" and then they NEVER are. From what I see every day, it seems like medicare supplements basically cover nothing. i am hoping the people that see this though, are just on the very cheapest plans I don't know. I can't see the cost of their premiums, only what the plan covers/doesn't cover. my mom is on a rather expensive plan that covers everything pretty much at zero cost to her except her premium. we're looking for something not quite that wonderful, but somewhere between I guess.

Artie - the online sites should show the coverage AND the fees - in michigan the fee is by county. I have blue cross blue shield medicare advantage ppo. Part D is what covers meds. You have to sign up for it. The med coverage is good. The dr and hosp coverage is good. Not cheap but at least i sleep at night.

I think you have to sign up for stuff the first time it is offered or else you can never get it back - remember, congress wrote the rules and do they LOOK sympathetic? Just sayin'! Dont think you are going to fool them and save money - you wont. Just bend over and say please sir may i have another.
