From what I see every day, it seems like medicare supplements basically cover nothing. i am hoping the people that see this though, are just on the very cheapest plans I don't know. I can't see the cost of their premiums, only what the plan covers/doesn't cover. my mom is on a rather expensive plan that covers everything pretty much at zero cost to her except her premium. we're looking for something not quite that wonderful, but somewhere between I guess.
Ugh. Not fun. My parents did okay on their supplemental insurance, but they each chose different ones based on their needs (my Mom takes way more medications than my Dad for example, but my Dad is a cancer survivor etc). They seem to do okay. I guess there are some decent ones out there. I know it doesn't pay everything but they don't complain about the donut hole and stuff. I'm sure my Mom falls into it with her meds, but maybe she got a really good plan. I hope you can get it figured out. Not fun for sure. On a separate note, tangically, me and another guy at work have to figure out what medical plans to offer this year at work. I'm really hoping we keep the one we have this year because it is really good. After about 4 months, all my meds were covered. I've never had that before. Zero copays after four months. It's great. I guess I hit the maximum threshold or something. HUGS Kit

I kept falling into the donut hole. This year my meds changed and maybe the plan changed, and its been a LOT better - i dont think i'll even get near it. I hate that darn donut hole. Its not a surprise you really want before the holidays.

I hear you about the donut hole. We have to explain it multiple times every day at work because it is ALWAYS a surprise to people. Thank you for being knowledgeable about it una.

With my job I know some stuff about the Part D plans but only plan-specific stuff as I see it, and I know nothing about the costs of different plans and stuff.
Thanks for this!

Today I should have gotten the shoes I ordered. I'm pleased about that. The email says it was delivered so I'm pleased. This was some retail therapy I did a few weeks ago.

Like in my state, for bcbs, there are 3 levels of plans, each is about $100 more than the previous level per month (over the cost of medicare itself) (in my most expensive county group). You get different annual deductibles (eg, 2000, 1000, 200), different dr or specialist visit copays, different hospital coverage (like copays per day).

Its all in charts. If you can do astronomy, you can do this!

A friend asked me to be a trustee for her estate. I asked my dad what that entailed and he asked me some questions to ask my friend. I'm not sure I want to take on that role but they don't have any children, and they hardly have any family. I feel like I would let her down if I said no. But then I'm looking at all the stuff you have to do, and I'm like, eek. I'm not sure I'm the one for the job. My Dad just did it for his Dad and I saw how hard he worked at it. I don't feel like, mature enough, or something.

I feel a little bit better than I did earlier today, but I still don't feel great. At least I'm not having to look up websites that are like no sui...

Mom is giving a tea party on Saturday. I'll be helping her cook, and I'm attending of course. It will be fun but like half the people she invited declined, so that kind of sucks. But sometimes it's better when it's smaller. Less going on. Less conversations going over each other. We are going to use both of our tea sets, her's and mine. Like every other one will be her's or mine. I think it will look pretty. I'll try to remember to take pictures and post it to the couch.

I hope this posts. This guy demonstrates the definition of stupid-

In my experience, one should plan on getting screwed over when you move out of an apartment. It's happened more than once with me.

Then i go to the liquor department at the pharmacy store and i dont know the difference between a pint and a fifth true story!

Im not sure what a trustee is, but even co-executor on my moms estate was a PITA. Going back and forth with the lawyer. Id make sure everything was right with the will beforehand. My mom spelled her name wrong or something and was too cheap and or lazy to change it, so we got stuck with the problem.

Eta - let us know what teas you make.

I’m moving out of my family’s home, so I’ll be alright that way. It’s just too much property and too big of a house for me to care for.

I’m sorting through *four* people’s stuff. Gahhhh!
Most of it is going. Some going to storage for a while.
Family is not hurrying me to move, so I have time.

If I don't end up breaking something by the end of the night or SH badly, I'll be so surprised. I feel like I'm at my breaking point today. I haven't been able to relax or take a nap all day. I did finish my last assignment for the week 3 days early, but that's it.

If I planned for that, it would mean I could never justify moving as an impoverished student. And I absolutely had to move to get away from my horrible roommate.

I didn't expect my deposit back. It's being asked to pay more than half my income for the month in addition that has me upset.

I think that was in response to my post about my enormous invoice from my previous apartment complex.

I didn't say it was fair. In my experience they will get you for any and everything they think they can get away with. I'm not saying I never damaged anything and I expected to pay for those things. But I've also been stuck with a bill for normal wear and tear and cleaning fees even when I left the place spotless. If I were going to rent again, I would probably put aside some extra money each month to pay for whatever BS they come up with at the end.
