I jokingly told the husband yesterday I want an Apple Watch Series 5 for Christmas. He’s been walking around with a look on his face like he’s trying to figure out why I want such a device since I’m not someone who needs to have the latest and greatest. I don’t want an Apple Watch at all. Just trying to decide when I should tell him I was only kidding. Maybe I’ll let him ponder it a little longer then tell him right before the Eagles game starts today so he can watch it with a clear head. What makes those watches so special that they cost so much darn money anyway?

They are made by apple, they do several things well, and they blend in with the apple eco system if you are into that. I have a series 4 and bought one for my parent/parent's spouse and my sibling - the fall detection and the heart rate/ekg was worth it to me for them to have. The series 5 has an always on display which is the new exciting feature. If you don't need fall/heart alerts and you don't mind flicking your wrist up or touching the screen - then get a series 3 - they work well in the eco system and are on sale all over the place over black friday weekend. I have also had good luck buying apple stuff refurbed on apple's own site and off of Swappa.

I got one way back when my person got sick - I have to keep my phone off or on silent when teaching or in court and I had missed a couple of important attempts by her/her md to contact me - so with the watch, it vibrated to let me to check and showed me the text etc so I could ask for a break or step out of class if I needed. The day she died, I had my phone in my office (as I almost always do - there are phones in the classrooms for emergencies) but my watch alerted me that she was trying to get hold of me to tell me of what was happening with her (it was completely unexpected from the discussion with her and md that same morning) and so I cancelled my class right away and went straight to the hospital - if I hadn't had the watch on - I might not have gotten to her in time to talk to her while she could still talk and before they intubated her etc which she did not want.
So I am a huge fan of the apple watch.

I really want to shut my brain up this weekend. I had another stressful dream where I was trying to get to Ts office for our last session before break. Then I realized I had 3 of my kids with and couldn't leave them in the waiting room or car for an hour. So I tried getting a hold of H but he wouldn't answer, so I tried my father who also didn't answer. I started back home but somehow got out of the car, lost the car, and started walking back home. Last thing I remember was looking at the time and seeing that I wouldn't be able to get to his office in 15 minutes. I started getting all upset that no one was helping me and I'd have to text him and settle for a phone call session.

I’m reading a biography of Prince Albert. I’m hoping to learn how he ended up inside a can.

Im more interested in Prince Andrew. If he isnt careful to shut his big mouth, HE'S gonna end up in the can. I cant believe Beatrice is the genius of the family. Then again, maybe she is

Well, I'm trying to make the best of this rainy day. Watching a movie (Novitiate, it's fantastic) and working on a cross-stitch project that's a Christmas gift for a friend (she's a grad student who works with octopuses). Trying to decide if I should fill in the center part with the lighter purple or the darker purple--what do y'all think?

(For any real crafters out there, I know my stitches are suuuper messy... but it's only my second cross-stitch project ever and my friend will like it anyway because she's a sweetheart!)

That's super fun, chihiro! I think you should do the darker purple for the inside. Then the lighter purple would look like the little suction cups on the bottom of the tentacles.

I love it, chihiro. It's adorable.

ETA: Dark purple.

The ex moved the last of his stuff out today. He's supposed to send me an email saying that everything left is mine (except his mower which I agreed to store), and I will respond that everything he took is his. That way we have a written record. Not that either of us is worried about it, but it's a good idea to cover all the bases.

Still not divorced. But closer.

Seriously, i have also wondered. Is that the stutterer? Prince Albert Hall? And the name they never use anymore?

The Madness of King George was on tv here, and i read the little blurb about how they named the movie "King George", not "George III", as they feared otherwise American audiences would have said, "...but we havent seen Madness I or II yet?!"

The stutterer was named for him but became George VI. This guy is Victoria’s husband and Albert Hall was named for him.

What name? Saxe-Coburg-Gotha?

Tomorrow I have to have a difficult conversation with EMDR T. Difficult for me becuase of what I want to say and what her response will be. I don't think this therapy is helping with my phobia. My question is whether what we are doing has long term goals or expectations or if we should move on or if I am unhelpable by EMDR. I have not really been seeing regular T either lately. I miss her but I just can't afford both.

Don’t know about now, but it was George VI’s first name. Also Edward VII’s. Also the one who wasn’t Jack the Ripper.

The guy who stuttered was Queen Elizabeth II's daddy.
Albert Frederick Arthur George who turned into King George VI
