I do the laundry in my house, but it's a trade. The guys clean the floors.

I don't mind laundry, and hate vacuuming and mopping. They aren't constantly bickering over the washing machine because someone forgot to finish their laundry or re-washing laundry that sat in the washer too long, and there are fewer loads because I can combine.

Win-win-win, except the nagging them about putting it away part.

When I got my hair cut short...3 years ago? the kids' dad's face did this: I'd always kept it longer because he liked it that way. I really like it short and have kept it short ever since.

Wives too. Or whatever trade people want to set up. But husbands in particular reeks of a time when women were staff in their own home. All imo, of course.

When I took economics this past summer, there was an article about how the person who has the comparative advantage in whatever household chore (i.e., likes it better or minds it less) should do it, even if they don’t have the absolute advantage (most skill) at it. Since two parties can’t have a comparative advantage in the same thing, this generally leads to a pretty even split of household chores between spouses and partners (presuming both work and have commitments outside the home).

I’m supposed to go to the gym today to lift but instead I’m lying down and reading or napping.

I’ve told myself I’ll go later. There’s plenty of time. I’ll have energy then.

I’m totally lying to myself.

I am an adequate folder. The way I look at it is - if I do it and you don't like then you can fold your own. Just like if I complain about how the floors are done then I can live with it or I can do them myself -but no micromanaging. I don't mind doing dishes either but I am not great with bathtubs. And I am terrible about putting the dishes away

Does anyone remember how my pumpkins were eaten, maybe, well 2 more have just disappeared. Poof. I dont think it was a bird or animal as the mulch hasnt been disturbed . They were quite big and heavy i find it hard to believe this time a cockatoo or possum took them away its not in their nature.

Instead of getting all pouty and upset i am thinking of writing to my exT and asking for an apology for the way he handled my termination. I dont know whether to do in myself or with help from newT. I think i deserve better than the way i was treated. I have already accused him of using my seeing other Ts as an ethical out.

I'm taking two steps backwards with this pneumonia. I see my doc on Monday thankfully.

It's my birthday and H is all happy that he doesn't have to take me out to dinner because I'm sick. He also has done no chores this week. He also wants to quarantine me to the bedroom because the sound of coughing bothers him (coughing isn't even the major problem - the biggest issue is a high pulse and getting short of breath with any exertion).

I've fallen into a YouTube rabbit hole today with this woman who is a bodybuilder/competitive eater who films herself eating. She eats so much food. Like 8 bowls of never ending pasta at Olive Garden. I have no idea why I keep watching it, but it's legitimately making me not want to eat ever again. I'm really curious what demographic watches this stuff other than middle-aged woman who feels like she's losing her mind on a depressing weekend (me).

You know, even my husband, who if you've read any of my previous posts you know is a certified a-hole, wouldn't have been a jerk if I was coughing from PNEUMONIA! He might not have been Florence Nightingale, but he would have probably made sure I was okay at least. Oh, and happy birthday! I'm sorry you're still sick. Take it easy until you're firmly on the mend or it will take longer to get well.

I think I would be more concerned about why she was bouncing change off of herself in general. What body parts would someone bounce dimes off of and why? What purpose would it serve?
Is this some straight girl thing?

Polibeth, I'm not trying to scare you, but I don't think you've been taking this pneumonia seriously enough. Pneumonia is no joke. The last therapist got pneumonia. The only sign she had was a slight pressure in her chest. She went to the doctor, who listened to her chest and said she had to go to the ER, and they said she had to be admitted. She ended up having to have part of a lung removed, her spleen ruptured, and she was on a ventilator for an extended period of time. At one point, her heart stopped beating and she had to be resuscitated. She had multiple surgeries and a tube to drain fluid from her lungs. When she was finally released from the hospital, she had to go to a rehabilitation place because her muscles had wasted away to the point that she couldn't even lift her arms. She experienced panic attacks because she was terrified she'd get put back on a ventilator.

Anyway, I'm saying all that because I really hope you will take it easy and stop trying to rush yourself so you can get back to work. That's likely to make things worse which could have worse consequences than delaying your return to work.

Yikes Susannah - that is scary. I've already decided if I get any worse i will go to the ER. I do have an appointment with my PCP on Monday. I do not think I will be able to work this coming week either.

I remember 15 years ago freaking out about turning 30 - wish I had enjoyed it - now everything is falling apart!

I have had pneumonia a couple of times and it can be really rough. It usually took a long while to get back to normal - a month or so of complete crap and then 4-5 months to get my strength back. It is serious stuff.
Although I admit the one good thing was that I could sleep - I did not have insomnia at all until they put me on the steroids.

Yeah i find watching others helps my food intake. Growing up, we ate the exact same 4 things, week in, week out. And i had NO control over my portions, ever. I kinda feel like an extraterrestrial trying to learn how to eat normally. Not really something you can do with your friends, is it?

My mother was the food police when I was growing up. Turns out she didn't want me to turn out overweight like my birth mother who was 5'3" and 160lbs. She was a bit of a control freak and when I left home went a little overboard, eating whatever I wanted to. I feel like I'm a disappointment because I've struggled with my weight ever since I left home and am about as far from skinny as you can get. I think she meant well, but it kinda backfired.

Speaking of which, if anyone would like some Lane Bryant promo codes for $25 off $50, expiring on the 25th, PM me. I have two of them.

H came back this afternoon, hung out with the kids and I for about an hour to play pokemon go. Then he went and napped then went out and drove tonight.

I SH last night and didn't think of calling my T until after the fact. But then I feel like it's pointless to call. I feel like I just cant bring myself to call him over wanting to SH especially so late at night.
