Artie, do they not include rubrics for the class? I guess yours is normally taught in person, but I edit online college courses for one of my gigs, and they nearly always include rubrics that have what each assignment is worth and the breakdown of components of each assignment and how many points they're worth (and specifics of how to get full or partial points for each component--yes, they're lots of fun to edit! /s). Or there should at least be some more basic grading breakdown in the Syllabus that says how much each assignment, discussion, etc. is worth.

Wait, this is a college-level psych class and the prof has people read from the textbook/readings during class? I haven’t done that since third grade except in English lit/drama/writing.

Mandatory curve? Oh god my eyes...

Ah - thanks for the perspective from the other side of the podium!

She did include it but it's obviously copied from a different class because none of the point values match our current assignment and discussion values up until this point - which we can see only as each assignment/discussion is posted every week and not in advance - which is precisely the way I asked my question. I basically asked (very nicely) for a rubric that matches the point values. Maybe I pissed her off?

She shares her screen and puts up slides that she has different people read out loud, all while whining many times about how she works all day long and is tired. As if the REST of us don't and aren't?!?!?!?!

there's no curve though. and she's a stickler for turning in stuff by the due dates - no exceptions.

I'm still crabby even after my shower but now it's toward my prof. I am keeping notes for what I want to say in the "what can we do better?" section in my end of semester comments if she offers it.

I am addicted to yt videos of a Japanese guy commenting on a Malaysian comedian commenting on British cooking shows. It started with me seeing the comedian commenting on egg fried rice cooking videos. Egg fried rice is someting i learned from my old Chinese house mate. I still rank the Chinese take out on how good their egg fried rice is.

Another birthday in the books........I can't believe how fast the years fly by - I feel like I was just turning 25.

Of course, H and son are arguing which is stressing me out. I think I might go for a walk to clear my head.

Is she not a native English speaker? Spanish maybe? (Thinking of the roo-bik pronunciation.)

Or maybe she’s drunk. That can be a preferable way to teach.

I actually don't mind it - it was started to force one extremely old (now dead) guy to give at least one A to someone each year.
Legend has it, that's what killed him.
