It's been really warm here this week (like not needing jackets warm), but they're calling for possible snow Monday night, turning into rain Tuesday morning. Which a few weeks ago would have been "OK, whatever," but now I'm concerned my D will have to do virtual instead of in-person school. (We no longer have actual "snow days" with virtual learning in place--it would be just do class from home instead of in the building.) And I have lots of work due next week, so...I need to get on that, I guess! As it's much harder to work with her home...

I hear you, LT. There's been so much disruption for the kids, and parents, just lately.
I hope the weather lets up so that your D can keep her routine (another important aspect, I presume?)

Thanks, Lost. And good point on the routine. Also, they completely changed the schedule the day she went back in person, so it would be a different virtual schedule, too (teachers are instructing virtual and in-person kids simultaneously).

We actually have 3, the one in this pic is the biggest and it's over 6 feet tall. The other two are a lot smaller, one about 2.5 feet tall and a tiny baby one.

Yikes....would think they would consider that kind of thing with a group of learners with additional needs. So much adjustment is bound to be a rough ride, and of course, it's the parents who bear the brunt of it.

I'll get off my soap box now.

Yeah, she's technically mainstreamed (how they handle it with all except really severe cases in my county), with what they call "pullouts" for special services, like small groups for reading and math, speech, etc. So they just changed everyone's schedule. For example, she used to have reading/writing (well "English language arts") in the morning and math in the afternoon, but they switched those, for no apparent reason. She also doesn't eat lunch until 1:20 (in school), where at home, she tended to eat around 11:30 or 12.

Having a really bad sensory day. Every piece of clothing i have put on today is either too tight , too loose, too rough, too smooth, catches under my armpits, or irritates me in some vague way. I am putting my pjs back on.

I can't deal with the texture of french toast. I have some sensory issues with eating. Also, from your other post about clothing, my skin has become more sensitive lately. This morning I put on a shirt after my shower, and it felt almost like it was stabbing my skin--I put it in the donate pile.

I never eat french toast but I ordered some red velvet french toast from a local restaurant last week and it was a divine treat!

I made chocolate pudding with liqueur (Bailey’s Irish Cream) in it earlier. Good.

I think everyone has some food they don't like the texture of - water chestnuts and shrimp both creep me out because of texture.

I hate the texture of apple sauce. And bananas. And not-thoroughly-cooked-enough tomatoes. Raw tomatoes are okay but halfway cooked are icky.

Oh! that reminds me of another one. I cannot tolerate cooked spinach. But I love it raw. Oh, I do like it chopped up in omelettes but that's the only way I can eat it cooked.

My favorite thing about food is Laverne and Shirley's rhyming grace before meals:

God is great, god is good,
Thank you, god, for this food.

The show "Trauma: Life in the ER" does NOT have all happy endings. Do not confuse with the happy Stories.

ER - Stories: Happy. Life: NOT.

Wow i forgot about Laverne and Shirely i spent most of my afternoon looking up old shows on youtube. Like WKRP in Cincinatti Benson, Bewitched, Knight Rider which lead to The Ghost and Mrs Muir, the original McGyver.

Really scared of my wisdom tooth surgery in 2 days. All 4 got to go. 2 impacted, one very close to the nerve Under general anesthesia because I've too much anxiety for local and I don't know if there's any other options.

No one to take me there or home. Friends are all working. I'll hail a taxi.

Times like this, I really wish I had loving parents.

Hugs, QM. I hope the surgery and recovery go well. I'm under the impression that, at least in the US, if you have impacted ones, you usually need to go under general anyway.

I like happy endings. I can read unhappy endings but I don't want to watch unhappy and I really really don't want to pay for unhappy or sad. I can get unhappy, horrifying and sad just from doing my job as a public defender or court appointed attorney for civil commitments. I prefer my escapism/fantasy world to be happy/witty place rather than sad or scary. In fact, I prefer almost no story arc at all - a happy sandwich - happy at the beginning, happy in the middle, happy at the end. Sad unhappy opera doesn't really bother me because most of it is in a language I don't understand with spiffy costumes and often a character I want to put out of their misery so when they die, it is sort of a relief.
