I tried this morning, but I was not able to find any available appointments in my county for the covid vaccine now that it opened up to 55+ today. I tried... at least I'm on a wait list.

Sorry, no (though I have mentioned people's negative opinions of him before!) Was in the context of maybe I should be working on my writing more. And how you'd just gotten an acceptance. He seemed impressed.

I was thinking more “is an arrogant douchebag of a therapist.”

You know, stopdog has a real way with words when it comes to describing therapists. I’ll yield to her.

All the more amazing when you consider her vocabulary is limited to prey animals: sharks, coyotes, leeches and squirrels.

So I'm now mostly functional, brain-wise. I swear the anesthesia hadn't fully worn off until sometime in the night Wednesday. I'm mostly human again, now. Still in enough pain that it's difficult to function, standing up hurts a great deal, etc. and my brain is still a little foggy.

I have lots of work to get done this weekend. It's going to be a challenge. I just want to sleep.

I don't think I'm going back to that office except for the mandatory follow-ups for the first year. After that, my primary care doc can check my vitamin levels. Incompetent or ill-informed nutritionists, arrogant surgeon (oxymoron I know), awful communication, the works.

I called the aftercare number with a question Thursday and got a ringing phone. After 15 rings, it told me the voicemail box was full. This is the number they highlighted in yellow on my discharge papers to call if I had questions. I called around a bit and finally got to a nurse, but that's just asinine.

I have very sensitive skin, so I asked the surgeon to use stitches instead of Dermabond. I reminded him that morning, as I had been instructed to do. I'll give you one guess how my incisions were closed...

Despite my awful GERD symptoms for more than 10 years, the surgeon also decided not to do the hernia repair. He "took a look" and thought it wasn't so bad, so he didn't do that part of the surgery. I was only informed this might be a possibility once I was scrubbed in for surgery. Gastric bypass is supposed to be a cure for GERD, but if it isn't, I'll have to find another surgeon any go through insurance again.

Just a lot of not feeling respected and feeling like my wishes count for zip. Felt that way on the floor, too. Not a good Healthcare experience for me. (And usually I do okay with Western medicine.)

I had a surgery in February 2019 at this same hospital and everything went much better. Ooh! I had my sister with me then, they give better care when a person is with you.

Thanks for listening!

Oh Moebius, so sorry to hear. Thats one of the reasons i wont get a colonoscopy - not while im fat. We're not people.

Are you on obesitysurgery? They seem very knowledgeable and helpful. They call nutritionists "NUTS", btw.

No, I'm on a couple of groups on Facebook and they are sometimes helpful but anytime a person has a dilemma, they post "Drink more water!!!" Like, seriously, it doesn't matter what the problem is; within the first 30 comments someone will give this advice. Couch 225: 2+2=5, Sheeple!

Hugs (if wanted) Mobius. Gentle to avoid the incisions. I'm sorry that they're not responsive on the phone and didn't listen to your requests. I hope your healing goes well and that the GERD is resolved.

Mobius - I am sorry the surgeon was such a jerk - women are mistreated and dismissed by those guys all the time.

Squirrels are the prey animals. Leeches go both ways. Sharks and coyotes are the predators.

For therapists you forgot weasels, snakes, komodo dragons, and harpy eagles

Hugs. Yeah, I don't know if I want to risk another therapist, especially as me and our child alter are hugely attached.

Had a session where I wrote down the concerns each known member had which they wanted to share. We only managed to work on 1 because the (protector) alter in question has the job of protecting the system and believes all attachment should be within the system, it's dangerous for me and our little to be attached to T etc. It was all through me although I know our protector wanted to switch me out. She just didn't because she's afraid we'll be hurt if she did take over. Like how our child alter thinks they'll be rejected if they switch out, how I'm stressed as hell because yep same concern!

Wish I remembered more, but I think T handled things quite well but I definitely don't remember if T answered what would happen if switching did occur.

So I slept in a little bit this morning, and when I got up to feed the cats about 30 minutes ago I looked outside and it's snowing!! what the actual heck? Snowing in mid March in southern AZ? That's just wrong.
