I am very sorry about the loss of your cat. I as well have had a cat cross the rainbow bridge. She will always be with you and will have always been part of your family. Have you heard of cuddle clones? You can have an exact replica of your pet you can hug.

I hope you can find some peace in her love

The pool at the gym has been closed for maintenance since Sunday. Now I have 2 pools that I can't use. Something there is that doesn't want me swimming.

You did the kindest thing for Esther. I had two kitties that have crossed Rainbow Bridge and it was really hard. Be Kind to yourself.

I have to present a patient case at my psychoanalytic fellowship tonight and I couldn't find a good one so I'm piecing together a crappy one right now. It's going to be mediocre at best. I'm really dragging my feet.

The good news is that there's no evaluative part of this fellowship so it doesn't matter if it's awful (other than some minor embarrassment to me).

The Y I’m swimming at this summer was limiting us to 45 minutes in the pool since they’re limiting pool occupancy in the pandemic, now they’ve expanded that to an hour. I might just be able to get my usual 2500 yards in in an hour.

I just got (somewhat by accident) the best ginger lemon kombucha that I have tried so far. It is very gingery in a way that most I have tried are not.

And of course the part played by accident intrigues the most.

Eta - you guys gotta read my bug story in the Coping with emotions story. I actually had an emotion today, and probably did not handle it in the most mature way. I do like my sarcasm. I may have to return in another life to resolve this issue.

I am trying to think of how one "somewhat by accident" secures an excellent ginger lime kombucha.

I am thinking it fell off the back of a truck.

I want to like kombucha. I also want to like kefir. I just...can't. And it's not a general aversion to sour things, just every version I've tried of each of those, I just can't handle. If anyone has suggestions of brands/flavors of kombucha that are more approachable, please share.

If you don’t like it and you’ve tried it a lot, why not just be a person who doesn’t like those things?

I mean, look at stopdog. She tried therapy a lot, she didn’t like it, and now she’s a person who doesn’t like therapy. She seems content with that.
Thanks for this!

Okay, phew, case presentation went well and more importantly is DONE -- woot!

I like kefir but can't stand kombucha. My roommate loves it so I've tried several varieties and all of them taste like bubbly dirt to me.

How about twig tea - kukicha? Sounds like it's related to kombucha. It's dirt tea without the bubbles, just straight up mud. Actually i do like it. It is made from the branches of bushes. Hopefully tea bushes.

My mind makes an instant correlation between kefir and my second h, so i cannot abide it. He also used to mix together cottage cheese and yogurt.

Oh you two.
I went in with a friend
on a co-op large case of it without knowing the flavors or the brand.

If you don't like it, you don't like it - it is all a little vinegary. I also like shrub -I like vinegar. I also like kefir a lot. And kimchi. All of the fermented K foods.

I've also tried shrub and disliked it. Yet, I like kimchi (vegetarian versions) and various pickled vegetables. Maybe I just don't like liquid vinegary things?

Hey couchies. Had a rather intense session with L after work today. Normally I would have gone tomorrow, but I had a scheduling conflict come up this morning so I texted asking for an earlier time, and today at 4 was it. It was one of those days where I didn't want to leave and said so. We talked some more about how I was angry with her last week and it was good to talk about it.
