Dinker time! (Combination of lunk and dinner - it was an old radio ad). I had the best dream last night too! It was a work dream. Usually i am struggling just to get on the team. Last night, THEY came to ask my help solving a bug. At one point, everybody clapped (for an unexpected positive outcome, like a magic trick, not so much for me). I woke up just as i was getting to the problem record, and i was looking at the printouts, and i was just amazed at how helpful they were - of course, they were mine, but i had forgotten how wonderful i was. Then i think my stupid phone buzzed.

But usually these work dreams leave me exhausted with TRYING to get accepted. This one, exhilarating. No more uphill struggle. I hope it applies to how i feel about stuff i struggle with in life, like weight and hoard and gaminess!

So I’m going to be associate chair this upcoming year (the colleague who was supposed to do it contracted COVID and it’s turned into long COVID and she’s on medical leave) and while I’m not super pleased about that, I am pleased that I got the salary increase I demanded for doing it, and that it will be permanent.

Hey guys. I know i am more of a lurker than a poster, but i’ve had one h*ll of a week, and it is only wednesday. i took my one cat, Jack to the vet monday after many years of not going. he ended up having a respiratory infection. But, the most worrisome thing was that he lost a lot of weight since the vet had last seen them, even if it was quite awhile ago.

So the vet cost $400 for blood work, urinalysis, antibiotic, and a rabies shot; not to mention the anxiety of waiting for the results. Turns out all it was normal, but i have to take him back in a month to get weighed. If he doesn’t at least maintain the weight he is at now, they’ll look into other problems. So the anxiety isn’t completely gone for that.

Yesterday, my other cat Penny started choking often, almost like something was stuck in her throat. So i need to take her to the vet. She’s never been, and she just turned 5. I am a terrible cat mother. if i took jack regularly, we could have caught this weight loss way early.

i’f that wasn’t enough, i just got scammed out of $3500. Thank god for my T. I called crying on her voicemail (this is the first time that my T has actually seen/hear me cry in 6 years of therapy). and left a tearful message about getting scammed and freaking out and what if i don’t get it back.

She called me 4 min later (while at her kids’ swim meet) to see what was wrong. She didn’t even listen to the voicemail-just saw that i called and called me so quickly.

She was awesome. She didn’t even acknowledge that i was crying, and kept talking to me until i calmed down. I called the bank tonight to start a claim dispute, and hope to the higher ups that i get my $3500 back. I can’t just not have that money.

so i’m in bed, exhausted and want this week to be finished and resolved.

So my daaighter who is moving to another state on the 20th now has to self isolate for 2 weeks and lodge an exemption request for the stat eshe wants to move to becuase she lives in our National capital which is inside the now covid state that has been given a red zone status. usually its local govt districts that are red zoned individually not the whole stae. She has given notice on her rental and the people are letting her stay an extra week rent free while she isolates so at least that is something. She is so stressed as there are limits as to who can enter the state now.

I woke up this morning again before the alarm went off, this time from the biggest Big dream I've ever had I think. Wowza! I started working with it while I was writing it down and brought my sketch book and pencils into my office with me so I can start drawing it right away while waiting for work to be assigned to me. (Yes, it's weird, you'd think they'd have it assigned to us before we start each day, but lately, that's not been the case. We log on and ask for work.) I have been feeling more confident the last month or so about drawing my dreams and sharing those and my own work on them with L and discussing in my sessions. I think, no I am sure, that drawing them has kept them even more alive and the dream this morning was very clearly a sequal to the recent nightmare - I was looking at my drawings last night before I went to bed - only this one wasn't scary at all. I am gonna keep drawing those that call me to for sure. Egads I love dream work. And I'm so glad that L pushed me to do more of it on my own between sessions, and that we went to every other week again, I've been getting a lot of dreams and work with them done in the weeks between seeing her.

Time to log into work. Have a good day/night depending on where you are. Hugs all around to those who want.

haha! Well so much for working. I can't log into my work computer at all this morning. I'm on hold for IT. So, that means I can hang out here while I'm waiting for them to answer. Texted my lead to let her know I'm not actually late, it just looks like I am!
