I've heard there's still a used car shortage, which is increasing their price. Depending on what your credit is like, Artie, you could end up better off getting a new car if they're offering any sort of 0% or very low interest deals for 5-year loans--if you wouldn't qualify or if those deals aren't around now (been almost 2 years since I was car shopping!), if it's almost the same price, it may be better to just get a new car, as they tend to have much longer warranties. And since he drives for his job, I wonder if it could be worth it to consider a hybrid? Not sure if they've adjusted his mileage payment to consider current gas prices (which are now $5 by me....)

Thanks EM & LT. I don't know what we're gonna do he keeps flip-flopping. Last thing he said: he had to go get a smog inspection today to renew his tags so while he was out he went to the dealer where we bought the car and had them look at it, and they told him some symptoms to look for and if they're not happening, they're not recommending a new one yet. I'm so confused haha. So he's gonna run it a couple more days and watch for what they said, and we'll make a decision based on that. Either way it ain't gonna be cheap.... whether we get a new or used car... he's starting to look at both. He's also waiting to hear back from the insurance co. on how much more the insurance would be for a new car.

in other news, my son texted earlier today and said he'd just landed in oregon, and said how beautiful it was just from the plane. i'm excited for him in this new adventure but sad for me. I think his interview is this afternoon, and then tomorrow morning before he comes back home he would be able to hang out in the shop some. I think is what he'd told us.

Apparently, since I live alone and never close the bathroom door, I didn't realize this door doesn't latch all the way and can easily be pushed open. Fortunately, both cats are doing well but I'm going to have to find a way to rig the door shut before I return to work on Friday so I can keep them separated.
I have/had the same problem in my apartment too! I tried rigging it for a day or two, but gave up, and luckily it all worked out with the kitties.

So far things are going good with my coworker/superior. She and I worked together maybe 2 hours yesterday. We seem to communicate better in person than we do on Microsoft Teams. I am hopeful these next two days she is here that we can work more on our relationship and have a better relationship going forward.

I have rediscovered the pleasures of the grilled cheese sandwich as comfort food. My mother had a LOT of cheese on hand and I'm too cheap to let it go to waste.

T appointment went well yesterday. T was proud of me for coping well over the weekend with my parents gone even though I had panic attacks and stuff. She says I listen to the professionals and try to put in place what they tell me to do. Feeling anxious/overwhelmed/agitated/paranoid today so this might make work fun. Will work with my coworker from NY in a while. Hope that goes well!

I eat about 1 grilled cheese sandwich a year. I am not a huge cheese person. I like it okay but go months without eating any.

My cat has apparently made it his life's quest to slaughter all the mice in the neighborhood. My back porch is a scene of carnage and mousy mayhem

Yikes, SD. I'm sorry you have to deal with that clean up.
From what little I know about cats, they don't always consume what they dispatch.

Toasted cheese sandwiches are one food that I would not touch.

I'm a fan of grilled cheese with tomatoes. There's a grilled cheese food truck in my area (I assume it still exists) that had a make-your-own grilled cheese menu. I found having mustard on it was really good, cut some of the richness. I used to get some mix of cheddar and swiss, tomato, mustard, on marble rye, I think? Been a few years.

I'd say I want a grilled cheese right now, but it's like 90 degrees out and humid, so not quite right for the moment!

Had an extra (technically) session with Dr. T today that was really helpful, focusing on stuff with D. He was very validating and gave me some things to think about.

(He was out Monday, and we were just supposed to meet twice, but I ending up asking yesterday if he had anything else before Friday).

It is better with mice than last week's bunny fest. It is not a big deal to toss them off the porch when he just kills them but sometimes he beheads them and leaves the head and the body -I have to get it off the porch while the dogs are eating because I don't want them bringing in the pieces (bad experience with this in the past). He is so proud of himself that one doesn't like to fuss.

Rabbits would definitely be more of an inconvenience. I don't know what your breed of dog is, but they can definitely be stubborn when dealing with something they probably shouldn't be interested in.

Thanks for the heads up - I will fix it after I find it- it was not intentional.

ETA - I only found one from a little time ago - that one was intentional. Is there one from today or something?

I am having the bosses over for dinner tonight. Salad. Lasagna. Bread. They are bringing dessert. I am kind of anxious but it should be okay. We have had a few of them over before. Just one person is new. I always like to leave a good impression.

Nope, that was the one. (Didn’t look before I posted.)

Having loaded up the car with ten seriously heavy boxes of my mother’s books for a donation to the library book sale, I am eating bangers and mash for dinner.

Hugs if wanted. I had to Google bangers and mash, and it sounds absolutely delicious.
